I set up a site using the Integrity Theme and I’m noticing that as I scroll the page, the link that is marked “active” no longer changes. Instead, one link seems to be “stuck” in the active state.

I had this working previously in the test version of the site, but when I migrated to the root folder, I noticed this error. I migrated by moving the .htaccess and index.php, as per a rather outdated article on Smashing Magazine: https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2013/04/moving-wordpress-website/

I read on another forum post that some javascript may be interfering with the code?

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

    Thanks for writing in.

That process should have no effect on one-page navigation. It’s the root of the folder structure that is changed and not the permalinks of the custom menu.

Would you mind providing your FTP login credentials as well?

    Thanks!

    Hi There,

I tried accessing your website to verify the issue with the credentials above provided but I could not log in.

Could you please confirm if they are correct?

    Thanks,

    Hi There,

I apologize for not being clear.

I was referring to your WP-Admin Credentials.

I need working Wp-Admin Credentials to be able to have a look at the issue.

    Sorry about that.

The password is incorrect, would you check again?
    Thanks.

    Hi there,

    Thanks, this one worked.

I checked settings and the were correct. You’re using cache plugin, please disable it, clear cache and check again.

If it doesn’t help try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi Christopher,

I deactivated the cache plugin and deleted old browser info – no luck. I am hesitant to deactivate the remaining plugins as they are all kind of essential for the site to run. Is there any way I can avoid putting up a “WEB PAGE UNDER MAINTENANCE” page to figure this issue out?

Right now I have been performing backups with every change that I make via BackWPUp, but I do not have another instance of the site for testing or troubleshooting. I’m new to this game so what would you recommend for performing maintenance? Are there any options that would not involve taking down the live site right now?

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

Thanks for writing in! You should deactivate all plugins to perform the plugin conflict test. As it’s a live site so I’d suggest you to create another instance on a subdomain to troubleshoot the issue.

    Cheers!

Alright, I set up a test site at test.wokst.com. I have deactivated ALL plugins EXCEPT Cornerstone, but still, I am not seeing the .active class applying to items on the top menu as I scroll through the page.

In the “edit page” screen, I have selected the correct navigation menu under “One Page Navigation” so this can’t be the problem… (see attached)

Please see my next post for updated URL info etc.
