I cannot get the blog sidebar to show up on individual posts unless I go into the Appearance->Sidebars and in “All Pages and Posts” check each individual blog post.
I checked “Enable parent page sidebar on child pages” and Blog Display: “Enable sidebar on blog index page” and all boxes in Taxonomies and that didn’t work even though I checked the all of the blog post categories. The sidebar would only appear on the main blog page and not individual posts (until I checked off each one).

October 14, 2014 at 5:07 pm #125300Hi Mark,
To display sidebar on posts / pages, you’ll need to change the content layout from full width to Content Left, Sidebar Right or Sidebar Left, Content Right this can be done via Appearance > Customize > {Your-Stack-Name} > Content Layout. If this doesn’t help then please provide us the login details of your website in a private message so we can take a deeper look into your issue.
January 26, 2015 at 6:37 pm #192241Hey all,
I have this same problem. I have content left, sidebar right selected in the content layout section of the customizer, but my posts are still showing the default sidebar. The blog index page is showing the proper sidebar however.
Thanks!
NathanJanuary 26, 2015 at 8:38 pm #192292I worked around it by using the default widget space for the blog post, but that means I have to assign sidebars to every new page. Would be nice for a way to make the blog posts just inherit the sidebar of the page you’ve assigned to be the “blog” of your website.

Please select posts from Appearance -> Sidebar and assign sidebar to them.
Currently only blog page selected.Thanks.
October 19, 2015 at 9:42 am #631142Thanks for the workaround. Is there any planned solution in the pipeline?
It would be nice to have the parent functionality working so as to not have to manually add a default sidebar to each blog post.
