The sidebar isn’t scrolling on my post pages in my blog. If you go to “stuff” and click on a post, the sidebar is static. It doesn’t scroll on the “About” or “FAQ” page either. Only on the “stuff” page.

Have I set up my sidebars wrong?

    Thanks!!

    Hi there,

I’ve checked this, and it’s scrolling for me on any of the posts or pages. The sidebar scrolls separately from the content area. Are you still having this issue? What browser and operating system are you using?

I am using Google Chrome and Windows 7.

I re-installed Chrome to see if this would fix it.

I’m still having the same problem. The “Stuff” page sidebar scrolls but none of the others do…On the stuff page when I mouse over the area the scroll bar shows up but not on any of the others.

    Hi Marita,

It will still scroll without the scroll bar appearing. I’m using Chrome, and it doesn’t show the scroll bar until you start scrolling. This is more related to how Chrome was made to work in recent updates rather than your site.

    Hello,

My sidebar, set to right…does not scroll. At one time I remember when you’d mouse-over the sidebar area a scroll bar would pop up so I could scroll down my sidebar independent of the site content. Now, with none of may pages is the side bar able to scroll down. As mentioned above, on some of the pages it would scroll, at one point. Now none of the pages will scroll. site is: http://www.theFAMILYlife.us. I don’t have a mouse with the scroll wheel thing, I don’t know if this is what you have when it was tested as working before. I am viewing it on a laptop with no mouse.

    Hi Marita,

    Thanks for posting in.

Sidebar scrolling for that layout will only only scroll if it has content overflow. Right now, your sidebar content is fit as your sidebar height which does not need to scroll at all. You can try re-sizing your browser height and see what I mean.

    Thanks!

    Hey Marita,

You can re-size the browser by pressing CTRL + (Minus Sign). I tested your website on Windows 7 and Chrome browser with no mouse (using touch pad for scrolling down). You need to take your mouse cursor to the sidebar and scroll it down. It should be done. I tried it on couple of pages as a test and it works just fine. Can you please provide us the Link of a specific post / page where you’re not able to scroll it down. we’d be happy to check it.

Can you try again by using a mouse?

    Thanks for the quick reply!

I actually don’t even have a mouse 🙁 I just have my laptop with the touch pad. Like I had mentioned above, awhile back when I would mouse-over the sidebar (with my laptop touch pad) a scrollbar would pop up only on some of pages that would allow me to scroll down the sidebar. Now I’ve noticed that it’s not popping up on any of the pages so I don’t have the ability to see all of the sidebar content when viewing at 100%, if you were able to see the screenshots that I had attached, viewing at 100% and 75% it shows that when my cursor is over the sidebar I have no scrollbar popping up. I can see all of the sidebar content once I got down to 75% (using the CTRL + (Minus Sign) but then the text was all small.

    Thanks for your help!

I just downloaded the firefox browser, and tested it in that. With viewing at 100% I still can’t see all of the sidebar contents and I get no scrollbar popping up upon mouse-over. In order to see all of my sidebar contents in firefox I have to zoom out to 67%. I just had my husband test it on his laptop and it seems to be showing up fine on his. I have no clue what the problem with mine could be. Why this sidebar scroll bar will not show.
