latest WordPress version as of today
    X-child Theme
    X-shortcodes version 2.0.8

I downloaded x-shortcodes version 2.0.9 from inside X admin panel, attempted upload to WordPress, and I repeatedly get a fail – message says the destination folder already exists and then provides location. Is there a resolution to this? I get the same error message when I attempt to use the suggested Contact Form 7 plug-in. Says folder already exists, and fails.

    Hey Michael,

In your FTP, please delete the plugin folder then upload the new one.

    Hope that helps. 🙂

    WP version 3.8.1
    X-Integrity (child) Theme
Shortcodes 2.0.8 (or 2.0.9- not sure)

Hello- I’ve done as you suggested, but there is no improvement. In fact, I now get the error:
“x-shortcodes/setup.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist”

It’s been since last week that I’ve been able to work on the web site. Can someone please take a look and determine what is wrong?

    Hi Michael,

After you have deleted the plugin folder now again try to upload the plugin and that should work fine.

    Thanks

    Hi again-

As I suggested previously, I have already done that, with no improvement.

    Hey Michael,

Thanks for writing in! To assist you with this issue, we’ll first need you to provide us with some information below (don’t forget to select Set as private reply to ensure that your data remains hidden):

    1. Your URL.
    2. Your WordPress login credentials.
    3. Your FTP credentials (in case we need to check anything out on your server).

Once we have all of this, we’ll be happy to take a deeper look into things.

    Thanks!

    Hi again-

Version 2.0.8 is the same version I had before I started down this road. As I mentioned above, I was attempting to upload/install short codes version 2.0.9. 2.0.8 was already there, and apparently was causing problems with my menues (see previous comment). In the list of installed plug-ins, it displays the version I had before (2.0.8.).

Aren’t we wanting to install 2.0.9?

In any case, the menu problem continues, after clearing cache and logging out and back in. Ugh.
