i uploaded childtheme & now i have quite some changes in appearance of the website.

please can you help me with:

1. i have 2 menu’s now … 🙂 one is enough
2. the menu is vertical. It was horizontal before. I would like to have it horizontal again & without the underlining in the navbar buttons

3. how do i change the layout of blockquote?
i put something in the custom css, so i know how to change the size of the font there now. But i would also like to change the colour and font. And how do i get the quote symbols back?

4. the changes that i make in renew dont show up in my website. Eg i changed the colour of the background footer to 6e007f but in remains grey.

Can you confirm that you are fully updated? (Theme and Plugins)

You can find the latest version numbers here: (https://community.theme.co/kb/version-compatibility/) Then you can compare them to what’s installed on your site.

If you find anything to be out of date, you can review our update guide.

Don’t forget to check the changelog as well.

in the changelog is mentioned that i should clear my cache.
Do i have to install a seperate plugin/funtion for that or is it already part of it?

Hi There,

You have a quite old version of X.

Please backup your website and perform a manual update. You are already running the newest WordPress with really old X this is not the best combination, it is always important to update your theme and plugins regularly in order that there are no big version jumps and like that you avoid conflicts.

Please make sure you have deactivated a old plugin called > X-Shortcodes and do the following.

1. Revoke your API key from X Addons section (check the bottom of the page) and also remove it from your license page on Themeco.

2. Temporary disable any caching plugins and purge all your server cache.

3. Delete both X theme (/wp-content/themes/x) and Cornerstone plugin (/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone) by connecting to your FTP (your settings will be saved in the database)

4. Download the latest copy of X and upload it to your themes folder via FTP OR you can upload the x.zip via Appearance -> Themes section.

5. Latest version of Cornerstone will be installed automatically when you head over X Addons section. Now you try validating your X theme again and then try to install any other extension and it should function properly.

I would recommend that you create a staging site. This is very useful because you can test drive the latest X 4.6.4 in the staging area, do the customizations and troubleshooting without disrupting your live site. Once everything is perfect, you can easily and flawlessly proceed the update in the live site. To know how to create a staging area, please check out these articles:

Please be advised that we have deprecated X Shortcode. You will need to deactivate and delete X Shortcodes plugin. Please take note that X shortcodes and its functionality has been consolidated into Cornerstone which you can install by going to X Addons. This will be installed automatically.

Access your site via FTP and perform a manual update >

On FTP acccess wp-content/plugins and delete x-shortcodes

wp-content/themes/ remove X and upload the newest version from : https://community.theme.co/dashboard/

Access https://community.theme.co/my-licenses -> revoke and reassign your URL and copy your license number

Login to your website go to Wp Admin Addons > and Enter your purchase code.
