Hello!

Bought another license for a new website!

But so many questions and searching through forum is not getting me the answers I’m looking for.

I started a cooking blog. I’m having trouble setting up the layout. I want it to have your basic food “blog” layout. Homepage that has posts with featured images, widgets on the side/top/whereever for social media, box to subscribe, etc.

So far, I went to Setting -> Reading -> Front page displays -> Your latest posts. But I don’t think that’s what I’m looking for.

I would like for the home page to be the “blog” page. Something like this one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi There,

What aspect you would like to copy exactly.

You could add a sidebar to your page.

If you would like to have a mixed content of posts and parts that you will create you can use a Page instead of a Blog Page and on Cornerstone edit your page and add recent posts elements or use The Grid Plugin or Essential Grid which also have awesome layouts. Those are bundled plugins that can be find on Addons on WP Admin Dashboard.

Awesome fast response!! I think this is exactly what I was looking for. I’m comparing the two different plugins but will prob go with The Grid, it looks more straightforward. Please keep this thread open! I’ll most likely come back with more questions. But I’m on the right track!

Quick question though. I read this on a closed thread (post# 882145) and not sure what it is: “that allows you to show different posts/pages/custom post types based on meta keys.”

How would meta key matching apply in my case?

I don’t need a breakdown answer 🙂 just any info is much appreciated!!

So for anyone out there that reads this, I’ve decided to go with Essential Grid. First off, I’m more familiar with it since I’ve used Revolution Sliders before. Secondly, you can customize the heck out of it, so I like that. Thirdly, they have tutorial videos from the developers on youtube which is a great starting point.

Well, that’s my two cents.
