Hi there,
Is it possible to set the revolution slider to show recent posts – say the past 10. It gives the options for selcecting specific posts or categories, but I see no option for recent posts.
Also, when I DO select a category or input specific post IDs, it says there are no slides… and when I click on edit slides I can only see the option for ‘new slides’.
Cheers
Toby
June 24, 2014 at 6:33 am #60334Hey Toby,
Thank you for your thread in our forum.
You can set Rev slider to show recent post by Main Slider Settings Sort Posts By: Date as seen on the screenshot below. This will filter your slider post by date & will show most recent post as you wanted.
Hope this helps, Thanks!
June 24, 2014 at 10:47 am #60428Ok, thanks.
But how do I actually get it to display slides? When I click preview it tells me there are no slides. When I go to add slides I only see the option to create new posts.

I can see you’re using Cache plugin in your site, I’ll suggest you to deactivate it first then try to create a slider. Full documentation is provided here: http://themepunch.com/codecanyon/revolution_wp/documentation/ & http://theme.co/x/member/kb/sliders/ to create a slider. Please check them & have a blast! 🙂
December 1, 2015 at 12:28 pm #686482Okay, in case this is still an open question, I figured a more to-the-point answer would be helpful.
Once you’ve selected the “posts” slider, you have to actually build the template using little WordPress codes like {{title}}.

This is actually a nice and relatively easy-to-use feature, since you can totally customize how your post previews look on the slider. It just so happens that it takes some digging to actually figure out how to do it. As with many things WP, we’re just supposed to be really good at guessing, and then hope for good documentation.
December 1, 2015 at 8:01 pm #687195Hi There,
Thanks for that, but that is for the version 4 Revslider. Here’s a documentation for version 5.x on how to create a post based slider.
Hope it helps, Cheers!
January 19, 2016 at 12:25 pm #753499Hi, How do I set revolution slider to show only my posts text and not image. I also see an empty slider.
January 19, 2016 at 7:27 pm #753987Hello There,
Thanks for posting in.
To do that, you don’t have to use the featured image of the post. If you see empty slider but you have added a text later already, make sure that you have set text layer style like below:
If the issue still exist, would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password
– Revolution slider with issueDon’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.
