Hey – I’ve got a blog on a subdomain, which I want to migrate onto the top level domain of my website. We built the blog on a subdomain whilst I worked on the migration of the main website (which was on Wix … urgh!!) onto a fresh WordPress+X install.

    So what we currently have:

    blog.domain.com

    domain.com

    both rocking X theme.

What I want to have –

    domain.com

    domain.com/blog

BUT – this is the bit but. I want to style the blog front page differently to the rest of the website, very differently. Thus, I was looking at wordpress multisite … but is there a better way to handle this?

For reference, the real domains are: bridginggaps.org and blog.bridginggaps.org.

    Thanks

    Hey there,

You will need to modify the blog template in this case. It would be best for you to consult with a WordPress developer though so you could get a detailed recommendation moreover there are other factors you should take into account not just styling.

    Thanks.

But am I right in thinking that multisite with sub-directories may also be an answer?

That is possible, but that also means you will managing two different WordPress site. So yes, you can style both sites separately.

    Thanks.
