Hi again. I created a staging environment, upgraded to X-Theme v2.3.0 and X-Shortcodes v2.3.4.
Unfortunately the issue of the playback control remaining visible during playback on normal/default page templates when viewed in OS X Firefox continues. As before, when the same video is viewed on a page created with the Portfolio template, the playback control disappears as expected.
I’ll post the login info for the staging site below.
I’m stumped. Any additional thoughts would be very welcome.
TIA!

I’ve taken a look, and for me the videos play just fine in Firefox. I checked the home page, a single portfolio item, and the portfolio page. On the portfolio page, I could even play multiple at a time. Are you still having issues on that staging site? Maybe clear the cache in Firefox? Also, what version of Firefox do you have? I’m running 30.0 on OS X
Take care!
August 6, 2014 at 10:28 am #78895Thanks for that, but the issue isn’t that the videos don’t play. To clarify, the issue is that the playback control doesn’t disappear when the video is playing on a normal/default page template. The playback control does disappear for the exact same video while it’s playing on a Portfolio page. I’ll post the links to the pages as well as a video again so you can see exactly what I mean.
I’m using OS X Firefox 31.0 (the issue is the same with FF 30.0). I can replicate this on several machines on both the staging and live sites.
Thanks for looking into this!

After more investigation, seems like there is a bug from the player library in which we have no control ( 3rd party player ). I added this as a bug and noted your thread for our reference. We may include fixes on next release.
Thank you.
August 6, 2014 at 2:49 pm #79060Sounds good! I still wonder why jplayer would behave differently when it’s called from a regular page vs a portfolio template?
In any case, it’s not a deal-breaker, but it will be nice to see it get sorted out eventually.
Thanks again!
August 6, 2014 at 3:01 pm #79080Hi Rich,
Yes, some issues rises mostly with firefox, including their mobile version but different problem. Maybe some unit transition issue like from safari problem where % value can’t ease to px value. But we will sort it out 🙂
Thanks!
October 30, 2015 at 1:48 pm #646636Hi – I’m sorry for bringing the same subject up again.
I’m running the latest version of this great X-theme, and have the same problem with Firefox as the ONLY browser that simply won’t play my M4V-selfhosted files.
I see a lot of communication has been private, and I hope that I can get a solution from this thread?
It doesn’t matter what OS (Windows 7 – 8 – 10) or OS X (El Capitan), Firefox doesn’t run videos 🙁
October 30, 2015 at 6:41 pm #646960Hi Jen,
This thread is actually old, and new version is now using mediaelementjs instead of jplayer. In this case, would you mind starting a new thread? With your new thread, please provide your site’s url and admin login in private reply.
Thanks.
