here’s a strange issue that i can’t seem to pinpoint a solution for.

    site: http://sonandsand.com

there is a video background above the masthead, and the company’s logo is supposed to drop from the top of the screen, centered, over the video.

the logo drops in properly and seems to work fine for a few minutes/hours, and then when I refresh a few hours later (or the next day) the logo magically stops appearing, and i’m left only with the video background – no logo.

I thought that the issue might be related to this site migrating from one server to another, so I completely deactivated/deleted Rev slider, and then reinstalled and built the slider from scratch…the same issue persists.

Next I checked to see if my security plugin was quarantining Revslider files – it is not.

I am truly baffled. Any idea why this is happening? Assuming that the logo is going to disappear again, I’ve attached a screenshot for how it’s supposed to look.

    Thanks

in case it helps, here’s another site (on the same server) that is experiencing similar issues with the revslider:

    http://wargodcollective.com

the revslider on this site is very straightforward and only utilizes background images… works fine at first, and then after a day or so, it breaks and shows this error:

Revolution Slider Error: You have some jquery.js library include that comes after the revolution files js include.
This includes make eliminates the revolution slider libraries, and make it not work.

You can see the error in all browsers (edge, ie, chrome, firefox)… screenshot attached as well.

i am 99.9% sure the root of the issue will be the same for both this site and the one i referenced in the original post.

quick update since my last post… I have tried the method you outlined in this post below for the revslider error on wargodcollective.com:

Revolution Slider Error: You have some jquery.js library include that comes afte

(deleting revslider plugin via FTP, then installing/activating via X add on)

it’s now working on that particular site, and i’ll keep a close eye on it for the next few days.

the original issue for sonandsand.com still persists as i don’t want to attempt to fix while you’re potentially working on it at the same time 🙂 …let me know if you’d like me to try the above method on this site.

    Hi there,

With the slider, you can turn off global library through its global setting, then enable “include library/javascript in the footer”. That should fix the jQuery conflict issue.

About the logo, it’s not actually appearing on my first set tests, then when I purge the cache, it displays. Could you try disabling the cache and observe it for few minutes or hours? The issue is not happening on my end anymore but I’ll keep on testing.

    Thanks!

yeah, the logo is not dropping in at all now. as i previously mentioned (in the private reply), at first, it was working in Edge and Chrome… now it’s not appearing at all in edge and chrome…same for firefox and safari.

i’ve been testing in private/incognito browsers, so cache should be a moot point. still, i’ve flushed cache and now completely disabled my site’s cache as to make this easier to troubleshoot (using siteground’s supercacher).

    Hi there,

I mean your cache plugin 🙂 , there are caches stored on server side too.

But I think I know the issue, it could be your hosting’s security. URL such as these are occasionally blocked (hence, there are times it will work, and not)

    http://sonandsand.com/wp-content/plugins/revslider/public/assets/js/extensions/revolution.extension.layeranimation.min.js
    http://sonandsand.com/wp-content/plugins/revslider/public/assets/js/extensions/revolution.extension.slideanims.min.js

Please check the attached screenshot. You may contact your hosting provider about this.

    Thanks!

thank you – you got me going down the right path…

it turns out the issue is caused by the rewrite rules in wp-content/plugins/.htaccess

these rules have been altered by my security plugin’s firewall settings.

i’m using bulletproof pro so i’ll check in with their support team to see if they have any fixes aside from disabling my plugin folder’s htacccess file.
