When I tried to activate the revolution slider extension, I received the following fatal error:

December 3, 2014 at 1:27 pm #157667Do you guys have any input on what this could be?
December 3, 2014 at 2:30 pm #157731Please respond with something. All that I have done is input demo content and activate various included plugins.
December 3, 2014 at 3:12 pm #157759Has anyone seen this?
December 3, 2014 at 3:54 pm #157793Hi there,
Thanks for writing in! To assist you with this issue, we’ll first need you to provide us with your URL as stated on the forum entrance page. This is to ensure that we can provide you with a tailored answer to your situation. Once you have provided us with your URL, we will be happy to assist you with everything.
Also was this on a fresh install, an upgrade. It might be a failed install of the plugin. have you tried uninstalling and re-installing the plugin?
Let us know if that helps.
December 3, 2014 at 4:19 pm #157808Hey, thanks for the response.
The domain is in the original message as a part of the error. It’s fortheride.org.
This is a fresh install of the X Theme. After installing, I uploaded the demo content, a home page example, and some customizer settings. All as per the Demo Content instructions. This worked fine.
Afterwards, I installed several of the bundled plugins (Google Analytics, Smooth Scroll, etc) and also Revolution Slider. After installing the Revolution Slider, I went to the plugins page to activate it. I received the above error. I tried to then delete the plugin so that I could reinstall. When I go to delete the plugin, it asks me to confirm that I want to delete the plugin and all of it’s files. When I click to confirm this, the browser navigates to a blank page and doesn’t seem to do anything because it almost immediately completes loading. If I refresh, I’m asked if I want to resubmit, when I do this the same thing happens.
After trying this several times, the plugin remains installed but won’t activate. The same error comes up every time I try to activate it. And since the delete/uninstall action on the plugins page doesn’t seem to be working, I can’t reinstall the plugin.
Thanks for your support. I respect the work that you guys are doing and know that you are probably very busy. I’m only frustrated because simple included things with the theme are not functioning.
Thanks,

It looks like permission issue. Could you try deleting it through ftp? or manually upload the plugins located from /x/framework/plugins/ (extract them before uploading). You may also contact your hosting provider to prevent future issues like this.
I can’t verify any of this asftp login isn’t working.
Thanks, and let us know.
December 4, 2014 at 2:05 pm #158476Just to be sure…
I should delete the entire revslider folder in the wpcontent/plugins folder through ftp and then recopy the folder from the theme download to the same place?
thanks
December 4, 2014 at 2:15 pm #158481LMAO man…
Did exactly what you said and now it appears to be installed and activated.
Quick question: I hate bothering you guys and I understand a solid amount of web programming (just hate doing it)…what program are you using to diagnose these errors? anything in particular that I could try to limit questions on this forum.
thanks
December 4, 2014 at 8:29 pm #158716Hi there,
You can try browser’s developer tools. Almost all browsers have this including IE 🙂
You can search the internet for each documentation 🙂
And check this too http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_File_Permissions
Cheers!
