Hi,
Revolution Slider have updated to V5.0 and I’d really like to use it on a Theme X site we’re building for a client – is it possible to update the slider in the theme or will you be supplying an update?

Hi Jonathan,
Thanks for writing in! The version of Revolution slider included with the theme is an unmodified version of the plugin, but we have added some features of our own to the theme that work in conjunction with the plugin to enhance its functionality, with that said we suggest to use the version that is bundle with the theme.

Themeco, can you clarify to help make a decision to use your version or the developers version?
1. It seems as though you “added some features” – what are they so I can compare to the new revolution slider 5.0?
2. It looks like there have been past issues with your integration?

Hi there,
Any version of rev. slider should work as long as the shortcode name used for embedding is the same. But I doubt rev. slider has more than one name so it’s okay.
The issue of rev. slider integration in cornerstone is not version specific, but rather the complexity of slider during preview and we’re currently working on that 🙂

Will the bundled version of Slider Revolution (complete with Theme.co enhancements) be updated to v5? And if so, do you have a timeline for this?

We do not have ETA yet though there is an X update on its way. Once our developers have updated Revslider bundled in X, it will be rolled out in our next update release.

I just tried the new version of Revolution Slider on my X the theme site (ie the paid for version of v5 bought through Revolution Slider) and it does not work at all with X the theme.
Can you fix it? Literally none of their demos or my own sliders are working. Wp-admin no longer offers RS as an option at the top of every page, and when you try to plug in the RS cornerstone plugin in the cornerstone editor, sometimes the slider shows up, other times it doesn’t, but no matter what, when you save the page, the RS doesn’t show up at all on the live site except for the menu bars on the first slide of the slider.
Please fix X the theme so it can integrate with the new v5 of RS whihc is much better than the old version.

Ok, thanks – I will tomorrow as soon as I get a chance. Also, I tried to go back to v4 and that’s not working at all now either – ie X doesn’t recognize the sliders from either version (they show up in cornerstone editing (sometimes) but other times they vanish in corenerstone showing a blank box, but on the live site, regardless of the slider, they don’t show up at all on the site (they just have a big blank space).
I’ve already uninstalled and reinstalled v4 multiple times but nothing seems to be working. So neitehr v5 which x doesn’t recognize at all or going back to v4 is working. (for anyone reading this stream, whatever you do, do NOT update RS to V5 until it’s compatible.
Will input a new ticket tomorrow with admin creds, etc. thanks…
