Hi,
I installed the X theme yesterday and I am impressed and really happy with all the options and the stability of the whole system. Anyway it seems, that there is only an outdated version of the Revolution Slider included. Please update to v4 because there are some features included that I really need to get rid of my current Royal Slider.
Best,

AnonymousMarc,
Welcome to the forums and thank you for your feedback! We are aware of this issue and it will be addressed in v1.1 of X being released sometime this week. We only include our latest tested version of the slider at any time to ensure that no new developments with the plugin interfere with the theme. v1.1 of X will also include a few bug fixes, along with the addition of an import/export feature for the Customizer, so you can easily save site configurations going forward!
Thanks again for your feedback and let us know if we can do anything else.

AnonymousMarc,
The new version of Slider Revolution (v4.0.4) is available in X v1.1.0, which has just been released. You can find the Slider Revolution plugin in the theme located inside /framework/plugins/revslider.zip. If you have already installed the theme, you will need to manually update the plugin by clicking on the “Revolution Slider” tab in the admin and then selecting “Update Plugin” in the lower right hand corner. You can upload the included .zip file this way.
Thanks!
November 14, 2013 at 4:43 am #909OK, updating the “Revolution Slider” was easy. How do I update the theme and the X Shortcodes? There is no documentation for that. And a simple install via the WordPress interface results in an error message.

AnonymousMarc,
For now, all theme and plugin updates need to be handled manually via FTP. To do so, login to your server, and go to your /wp-content/ directory. From there, you’ll see a /themes/ and a /plugins/ directory. Navigate to each of these respectively, unzip the latest theme and plugin version you downloaded, and simply drag and drop them in to overwrite the old versions.
We are currently looking into the idea of implementing automatic updates (much like what you would see with a free theme from the WordPress repository), but this will take some time to consider. The drag-and-drop replacement method works very easily though.
Let us know if there’s anything else we can do!
November 15, 2013 at 2:19 am #917This works fine for the theme, but does not work for the Shortcodes. You run into error messages when updating the short codes from v1.0 to 1.1 via FTP upload. The error is like this:
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare x_shortcodes_init() (previously declared in /users/PL24713/data/websites/unavailable-light.de/wp-content/plugins/x-shortcodes/x-shortcodes-setup.php:34) in /users/PL24713/data/websites/unavailable-light.de/wp-content/plugins/x-shortcodes/setup.php on line 35
November 15, 2013 at 10:07 am #920Marc,
This is because we made some slight structural changes to the shortcode as well. While logged in via FTP, simply delete the old shortcodes plugin and than install the new one. This should fix the issue.
Thanks!
November 15, 2013 at 10:54 am #925Additionally, this won’t be an issue going forward. Just wanted to put your mind at ease. 🙂
November 15, 2013 at 11:01 am #926OK, tried it and works. Thank you!
MarcNovember 15, 2013 at 11:07 am #927No problem, Marc!
