Hello There,
Thanks for updating in! Rearranging the z index does not move any of the elements in their current positioned. The positions is composed of x and y. The z index is what makes the layer being in front or at the back of the other layers. You can find the z index here:

Since I have changed the links from jquery to tag the fading issue appears to be resolved. Thank you! Is it still necessary to adjust the z-index at this point? If so, how would I adjust it for the menu and menu items only? Lastly, How do I change the time on how fast a particular image within the slider appears?

Since it is fixed already, I don’t think you’ll need to change the z-index. The last time I’ve check, the bar layer is at the very least number which means that it is behind from all other layers. If you want to extend the time, just drag the gray area. It should be draggable.
