Hi,
is it possible to add content (caption and brief description of an image) to slides? I don´t want to add a new layer with text/html – so is it possible to add text in the settings of the rev. slider? (It should like similar like the attached image – inspired by an essential grid layout)
thank you in advance.

That is only possible either by adding text/html layer or adding the caption on the image itself. On essential grid, we just provide the caption and the skins handle how it is added. On the other hand, on rev slider, there’s not skins and we build it from scratch on how it will display using layers.
Hope this helps.

You can’t add a caption directly to the image for the rev slider. You will need to add a text layer and insert your caption there for that. You can add html code or shortcodes on the text of revolution slider and it will render once it is live.
