vba66aParticipantHi,
Can you please help me re-activate Slider Revolution after website was moved from dev server to live production server?
I successfully passed X-theme validation (Yay! Automatic updates are up and running) but plugin has status ‘not activated’ and as a result slider is not displayed on the site. Plugin activation requires registration code from plugin authors which I obviosly do not have as slider was bundled with X-themeThanks in advance,

ChristopherModeratorHi there,
Since slider revolution comes bundled in X it doesn’t need activation code. You can use it without activation code as long as X is activated.
Thanks.

vba66aParticipantI ended up buying a licence for revolution slider because it would not work otherwise. But thank you for your reply.

InHouseLegalsParticipantHi I am in the same boat. I keep seeing your answer that Slider Revolution does not need activation but I have also moved to my production url from the development one and at the moment I can’t launch the site as Rev Slider is not working. I have a support request in for it but it looks like noone knows what to do. It seems that Rev Slider documentation suggests that you deactivate your purchase code on the old location and then reactivate on the new one but as users of the plug in that is bundled with X we don’t have the purchase code – you must do though. Please could you help on this. I really don’t want to ask my client to pay for this plug in when it came bundled with the theme. This a matter of urgency for me, I have a site waiting to go live and my key features are not working.

RupokMemberHi there,
Sorry to hear that you are still having trouble. It seems you already started over as I can’t login. Hopefully everything will be fine after re-installing.
Cheers!

InHouseLegalsParticipantI thought I would update this thread in case anyone else has this problem and finds the thread through google while searching for an answer as I did.
I solved the problem which like the OP’s occurred after migrating from a development domain to the production site. I did the following:
I ran CC Cleaner on my computer.
I opened WP admin in a browser I had not used previously for it, in my case IE.
I cleared my cache plug in – in my case WP Cache. I thought i had done it pre migration but think i may have turned it back on again whilst trying to wizz through a bunch of modifications to lots of pages at the last minute.
I turned off heaps of plug ins and tested each one.At some point in all that Rev Slider swung into action. none of the plug ins appeared to be the conflict. I reckon it was one or other cache. I didn’t lose a single thing in my migration in the end and am glad i didn’t go and pay for Rev Slider!
Another tip for people who are migrating is after you have done your final back up of your old site

turn off your auto back up when you arrive at the new location
By the time I had realised i had a problem my relevant back ups were overwritten. I had an export from All-in-One WP Migration plug in had i needed it (though that isn’t the migration method i used on this occasion) but didnt help my panic level when i found i didn’t have a useful back up.
thanks to all who put up with me stressing over it all day and night yesterday. Hope this one day proves useful for someone else freaking out as much as I was.
