PaulDeF515ParticipantI am trying to use renew demo 10 at the start of a site I am developing. I am wondering if I can get the actual demo pages to install right off the bat. i.e.. the Home, Blog, Portfolio and contact pages just like the demo. I have read about a possible x-theme plugin issue but do not have an option to install them from my X add on page – just guessing, but can’t seem to figure out if it is even possible to get the site to load like the demo initially and then modify it from there. I am not concerned with the content but would like to be able to work with the renew 10 demo the way it looks on the theme demo page. See attached for reference – thank you

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for writing in! In the latest X theme, when you import a standard demo content such as Renew 10, you can import the Homepage and customizer settings only. The portfolio items and posts will no longer be imported. We have chosen not to import these because a lot of users will not use these items and that we do not have a one click feature that you can delete these items.
I have attached an XML file for you to import the demo blog posts and portfolio items.
Hope this helps.

PaulDeF515ParticipantHey All. I have imported the xml file and when I go to my pages section on my wp dashboard there are additional pages, just not the ones I am looking for. I am an iOS developer but new to WordPress. I am trying to build my own portfolio site but may be in a bit over my head. In a perfect world I would like to use the renew demo 10 with at least the portfolio option on my home page. I think it would take me a while to configure it on my own the way the demo site loads. Would it be possible to attach an xml file that uploads that portfolio page? I figured it doesn’t hurt to ask … thanks
ps – i added attached pics for reference of how I would like my homepage to load and link to the portfolio page ….

FriechModeratorHi There,
Sorry, I am not entirely certain about your issue. What I know is you’re asking how to recreate this page (http://demo.theme.co/renew-10/portfolio/).
This page is using a pre-built Layout – Portfolio template that will automatically populate your Portfolio posts.
Just create a new page or edit an existing page and use a Layout – Portfolio template for that page.
Thanks.

PaulDeF515ParticipantOk. I did that and that is the first part of my question. How do I get it to populate like the demo with the clickable images that link to a page with the info for that image. I get a blank page titled portfolio. see attached

PaulDeF515ParticipantUpdate. This is weird. All I did was refresh the page a few times and I am now getting this. There are a bunch of really small thin rectangular boxes. Below this boxes are clickable images linked to case studies. Can you tell me how to get rid of the rectangles? Is this a Safari issue?
See attached – Thank you

FriechModeratorHi There,
How do I get it to populate like the demo with the clickable images that link to a page with the info for that image.
Those are not normal images element, those are the featured images set on each portfolio posts.
This is weird. All I did was refresh the page a few times and I am now getting this.
Like I said above, this page with Layout – Portfolio template will automatically populate with portfolio posts. Maybe it did not work the first time you visit the page because of the browser cache.
There are a bunch of really small thin rectangular boxes.
Those are not just boxes, those are portfolio posts with no Featured Image assign, please edit those portfolio posts and set a featured image on it.
Hope it helps, Cheers!
