Steve SParticipantOur site is running very slow so we checked with our host and also ran GTMetrix to analyze the site. One of the issues, we’ve been told, is there is a large number of redirects. GTMetrix says to “remove the following redirect chain if possible.” Any idea where these come from – perhaps one of the plugins? Better question, any input on how to remove them?
Thanks.

JadeModeratorHi Steve,
You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

Steve SParticipantThanks for the response. I tried what you said but the redirects still show up.
Do you know how I can remove these manually or is there any other way?
Thanks.

ChristianModeratorThose redirects aren’t caused by X. Please remove all scripts in your site including custom Javascripts. If you haven’t added any scripts, your site might have been hacked or infected by malware. In that case, please check with your host or seek help from a security expert.
Thanks.

Steve SParticipantEnded up using SiteLock to clean them out – was spammers.
Thanks, as always, for your help.
