Hi,

Is there a way to change to icon to see when hovering over a recent post? Currently is a note page and I want to change that icon.

Ho Gerald,

If you want to change your icon add the following code to Appereance > Customizer > Custom > CSS

Changge \f008 for the desired icon.

.x-recent-posts .format-standard .x-recent-posts-img:before {
    content: "\f008";
}

I think I’ll use the microphone icon xf130.

}

is there way to use the microphone for one category and the file xf0f6 the other category?

It could be possible. Can you provide your URL and point us the Recent Post element and the category?

Meantime, you can try like this :

.x-recent-posts .category-micrphone .x-recent-posts-img::before {
  content: "\xf130";
}

Let’s use the correct slug of your category to replace .category-micrphone

Icons could be edited base on posts format. Regretfully what you’re trying to achieve isn’t a feature offered by X. It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities.
Please update your code to :

.x-recent-posts .format-standard .x-recent-posts-img:before {
    content: "
.x-recent-posts .format-standard .x-recent-posts-img:before {
content: "\0f130";
}
f130";
}

Where do you find these codes for the icons. The link above only includes shortcodes, but I need the code in that “/0000” format for the RSS feed.
