    Hello.

    I updated my site a few days ago and just noticed that a section “disappeared”. I originally set this site up using the education expanded demo and the section I’m referring is shown in the attached screen shot.

    On my site, you’ll notice that the “gray space” is there, but all the text is gone.

    Can you please help me set this up again? Why did that disappear?

    Hey Jacko,

    Did you switch themes before this happened? Please check your footer widgets in Inactive Widgets section under Appearance > Widgets.

    Hey Christian,

    Thanks for the reply, no I didn’t. And thanks, I found them under Inactive widgets! I appreciate the help.

    Now that this happened I’m more concerned about backups… what backup plugin do you recommend to use for X?

    Also, is it safe to update to Cornerstone 1.2.4 and the newest version of the theme? I’m running the Child Theme.

    Thanks for writing in!

    Glad that the issue is resolved. I can see text in grey section area. Officially we can’t recommend any plugin as we are not allowed to do so. However on a personal note you can try UpdraftPlus Backup and Restoration plugin.

    You can update Cornerstone to latest build version 1.2.4 and X theme 4.4.2. We always recommend our customers consider using a development environment to upgrade X and Cornerstone before upgrading live site. This is a great place to test updates with your customizations to see how your site is affected. Also we recommend you to please walk-through our theme and plugin update guide:

    Note: Since i have recommended UpdraftPlus as a backup plugin, please note that officially Themeco cannot provide support for third party plugins or scripts as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.
