Hey X,

On the Product Validation, it says that automatic updates are up and running and shows my API Key; but Addons – Home says that I am running 4.0.7 . Also, under Plugins, Cornerstone says, “There is a new version of Cornerstone available. View version 1/2/4 details. Validate X to enable automatic updates.” How do I get these automatic updates???

This question arose out of another problem: the Backend Editor on my pages will not load. Other threads have suggested making sure Cornerstone and other plugins are up to date (hence the automatic updates problem).

It would be great if we could hit two birds with one stone on this one!

Hi there,

Thanks for updating. There was a known bug on X 4.3.0 regarding the automatic update. If you are using that version or earlier, kindly update the theme manually for now. You can download the installable theme from themeforest or here – https://community.theme.co/dashboard/

You can just place the extracted theme folder x under wp-content/themes/ folder using FTP replacing the old theme folder.

Also please follow the installation video to understand it better – https://community.theme.co/kb/theme-installation/

After updating theme, everything should be fine and then update all other plugins.

Alright. Will this discard all of my customized settings (background, fonts, font colors)? It did that the last time I updated.

And this should fix both Product Validation and Backend Editor not loading?

It’s just really weird because just a couple days ago I was editing and I deleted a picture from my home page and published and now the backend editor (with all my info) will not load so I can’t edit! The backend editor will not load with any page.

Did you already updated your WordPress to 4.5? If that’s the case, you really need to update X and Cornerstone. X 4.4.2 and Cornerstone 1.2.4 are now available! This release contains several bug fixes and we’re quite excited about the new features, so be sure to check out the changelog. Please do update to the latest version. After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

To avoid any issues, I would recommend that you create a site backup before doing the updates. It would also better if you update the files manually.
