I am having two problems with the Navigation bar since updating. I am using Renew Stack.

    1. On the laptop/large format version my nav bar is NOT staying fixed at the top even though that feature is enabled.

    2. On mobile/small format I do get to mobile square button but it does not work when click. Also the Nav links appear running horizontally across the screen under the nav bar. The links do not display the dropdown/submenu items when clicked

Can someone take a look and help me out? I will post credentials in a private message.

    Happy Holidays & Cheers,
    Stacey

    Hi,

Thanks for the link. It helped me update the the Visual Composer but not solve my other problems.

I was trying to fix this nav problem last night as I remember that I had some Javascript and CSS in the Customizer Boxes that basically mimicked your overhaul of the mobile nav functionality. So I deleted the Javascript, hit save & publish, checked the front end to see what happened (still not corrected). Then when I went to go back to the Customizer to delete the CSS there is like nothing there (see screenshot) Appearance > Customize is like gone!

I also have additional problems with the large format nav bar:
    1. the dropdown/submenu do not drop-down on hover over and
    2. when clicked do not appear and the page just like reloads.

I did make a mistake and not update the shortcodes with the theme as I did not see this warning on my dashboard, but I do not know how to roll things back and start over if that is what is needed.

Any help you can offer is appreciated.

    Merry Christmas

    Hi Stacey,

Merry Christmas and thanks for posting in. Issues to the nav bar will be due to updates in the nav structure. See https://theme.co/x/member/changelog/. Also I believe you followed the link given above regarding release notes. However when checking your site I’m not able to replicate your nav issues, where you able to fix it already? If not please check that you have caching plugins turned off while developing. Clear your browser and plugin cache and see if it is working.

    Hope this helps, Happy Holidays

Once I cleared my browser cache I was able to get back to the Customizer thank goodness. I was able to delete the CSS that was duplicating the updated functionality of the mobile navbar. I do not use any caching plugins. This has resolved most of my issues, but not all…

I was able to “kind of” get the Navbar to stay fixed at the top by changing the Navbar Position Setting, then going back to reset to FIXED TOP the setting (similar to updating the Customizer) . BUT, the FIXED TOP navbar setting functions very poorly and not as it did before and I believe not as intended.

    1. The Navbar disappears when scrolling, then does not “reappear” until the bottom footer menu comes into full view.
    2. The Topbar does not stay fixed at all which it did before.

How can this be resolved as this is a very important feature for me?

I have also noticed that on the mobile navbar the dropdown buttons are different – large, square, transparent. It is not that I do not like these new buttons but I was wondering if these can be modified (change style, color etc) using the Customizer (if so which section & features should I focus on).

The other thing that I am wondering about the pages continue (to scroll)far beyond the bottom footer – this looks very bad to me. I have never seen this before and makes me thing that there is a problem. How do I fix this? The page should stop with the bottom footer at the bottom of the screen.

I look forward to your reply

    Hi Stacey,

I added a fix at your customizer’s custom css.

I don’t see any css that will fix your topbar on top so not really sure if’s fixed before (topbar are not meant to be fixed initially).

Though, there is a css that fixed your widget bar positions which currently on top. This could be what you’re referring and not the topbar?

    Thanks!

The Navbar is working good – thank you. And now the page stops at the bottom footer – excellent. This fixed the malfunctioning Scroll To The Top feature.

The CSS for the Widget bar works. This is not what I was referring to – I was referring to the Topbar (red topbar). I like the Widget Bar fixed to the top for mobile/small format.

However, now I cannot back into the Customizer again. I have cleared my browser cache and full history and still I cannot get to the Customizer.

Why does this happen? This NEVER happened before the update. Like I mentioned, I cleared the browser cache & history and still no Customizer so I am stuck.

    Thanks,
    Stacey

    Hi Stacey,

I’m sorry you are experiencing problems mentioned above. You have some errors within the console, see http://prntscr.com/5lhtqa

You may have a plugin that is changing how scripts are loaded.

You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

    Hope this helps!

    Hello,

Thank you for the quick reply. I deactived ALL my plugins EXCEPT SHORTCODES (I tried to deactivate it but it would not deactivate). The problem persists.

Could the problem be with the Shortcode Plugin?? Also I noticed on my Theme page APPEARANCE > THEMES I have a broken theme message that says:

    _MACOSX Style sheet missing

I do remember seeing this at some point in the WAY past and your guys (support) fixed it for me as I was totally baffled. Could this be the problem?

    Thanks

    Hi Stacey,

As I mentioned before, I’m not seeing any css or javascript that should make the topbar fixed on top. If you had that, please provide a copy.

Topbar is not meant to be fixed on top, and can only be done through custom css/javascript. As you claim that it was working, then it means you have previous copy of those codes which I can’t find anymore.

And your customizer works on my end with no any error. So it’s contradicting from you and other supports findings. So it’s weird :S , I’ll investigate this more further and I will let you know.

So again, please provide the css/javascript or thread that helps you enable topbar fixed positioning. It’s not from X, so we can’t rule out that it’s working before while not having any custom css/javascript.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I think I was not clear before – my apologies. Please ignore the Topbar thing – not a big deal right not. Perhaps I was mistaken and the topbar was not fixed. But even if I was correct it would be in the CSS of the Customizer that I cannot get into…

My major issue is that I cannot get into the Customizer. I don’t know why. I have tried everything. Could the “broken theme” issue be the problem? I don’t know how to fix it.

Can you give me some other instructions or suggestion so that I can back into my Customizer?

    Thanks
    Stacey

I normally use Chrome. So I swtiched to Safari to see if that would change anything and still the same – I can’t get into the Customizer

    Hi Stacey,

You can always delete that broken theme, it’s folder extracted along with the theme package. I just removed it for you.

Could you try switching to parent theme so see if this issue will still remain? No matter what check I do, the customizer works on my end.

Or do you have any plugin/widget/script that is activated on home page that provide different content for each visitor, or for each country? Could you try removing your widgets for now?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

I tried switching to the parent theme, but with the same results – can’t get into the Customizer. See screenshot.

    https://drive.google.com/a/muttmaps.com/file/d/0B8ez8B8nCbb7dDB0SEpoNmF3dUE/view?usp=sharing

Then I figured, well why not just activate another entirely different theme (all plugins and everything kept the same just changed out themes) – I was able to get into the customizer. I am not very experienced as I am sure you can tell, but this seems to me to point to the theme as causing my problem.

The other plugin/widget/script that you mention I believe is Geordirectory – I have contacted their support for assistance as well but because of my result when changing themes I think this problem is with the theme. Has the scripting problem you mentioned above been identified?

    Thanks
    Stacey
