My site is currently running version 4.0.7 of the theme. The site was originally built with visual composer. I have zero, less than zero actually, desire to redo the site with cornerstone. I need to make changes to the front page of the site, when I attempt to edit the page I can no longer access visual composer. I click on the button for the VC backend editor nothing happens. I cannot access the drag and drop visual composer interface. I can only see the shortcodes of the visual composer in the text editor. Thankfully it all still works, but I need to be able to access the drag and drop interface. How do I correct this? I’m afraid to update the version of the theme further because I refuse REFUSE to redo the entire website in Cornerstone and I’m not willing to take that risk until I know for certain that I will be able to continue with visual composer. I’m seeing other people state they can use VC, so I have some hope here, but I don’t know what version of the theme they are using.

I’m also experiencing issues with the revolution slider, sometimes it loads very glitchy, but I don’t know if that’s because it’s an older version of the theme or not and needs to be updated… Which I am scared to do, because (it’s worth repeating, lest anyone attempt to try and convince me otherwise) I will not redo the site in Cornerstone and I feel it’s being forced upon me. (I’m slightly bitter about this, but hoping you can talk me off the ledge and assure me I can continue to use VC.)

Any help you can provide is immensely appreciated.
    Theme version 4.0.7
    Wordpress Version 4.5.2
    Rev Slider version is 5.0.4.1
    Visual Composer version is 4.6.2

I’ve attached screen shots of what I see when I access the backend editor of VC and also the weird glitch that happens occasionally with Rev Slider.

    Hi there,

Thanks for writing in! No one actually forcing you to redo with Cornerstone and Visual Composer is still an option with X. However you must need to install Cornerstone to run X smoothly as it’s a required plugin of X. Actually it will be installed automatically for latest version.

However it seems you are using older version of X and Visual Composer and the issue seems related with that.

Can you confirm that you are fully updated? (Theme and Plugins)

You can find the latest version numbers here: (http://theme.co/changelog/) Then you can compare them to what’s installed on your site.

If you find anything to be out of date, you can review our update guide.

Thanks for your response. I updated to the latest version of X 4.4.2 and I can now see the drag and drop interface of visual composer. However, When Cornerstone updated to 1.2.4 I got a mess – see attached screen shots

I reverted back to version 1.0.5 which corrected the issue and makes the pages display correctly. However under that version I can no longer access the entire plugin page. It stops after the Cornerstone plugin. I’ve attached a screen shot of that as well.

How do I correct the issue so that I can be working on the correct version of cornerstone, without the crazy mess? I’m sure continuing to use the older version will eventually cause me headaches, so I’d rather get it upgraded and everything working.

    Hi there,

How did you update cornerstone? did you update it by replacing the folders?
Please connect to FTP and remove cornerstone folder form wp-content/plugins. Next navigate to X addons page to install cornerstone automatically.

    Hope it helps.

That seems to have worked. I’d updated it through the plugin folder. Thank you so much for your help
