Hi,
I have purchased the X-theme and have a question regarding the site I am developing using the theme.
In the Posts, once I enter the content, a certain word (which is actually the brand name of the client) is put in red. Rest of the post is in the normal color. The post content appears properly when viewed in the single post page and the brand name does appear in red as required.
However, in the home page, where the post excerpt appears, the red color goes away and it appears in the body font color.
I want to know how to make the brand name in red also on the home page.
You can see the site at : http://www.fleetmobile.us/fleetus/
And the post at: http://www.fleetmobile.us/fleetus/it-doesnt-take-a-rocket-scientist-to-change-a-tire/
You can see the word FLEET appear in red italics in the post but not so on the home page.
Thanks, Teejay
March 22, 2016 at 8:19 pm #848828Hi there,
Thanks for posting in.
In your single post page, you can add HTML content and apply colors to it. While when generating excerpt such the ones from your home page, WordPress will going to strip out all none text content including HTML content. Hence removing the color you added. This is not theme version specific, but this is WordPress limitation. It’s WordPress that generate the excerpt, not the theme.
Thanks.

So is there anyway I can overcome this limitation because the client is insisting on seeing FLEET written in his brand color on the home page.

TeejayMarch 23, 2016 at 3:34 am #849198Hi Teejay,
We have to use MANUAL EXCERPT. On the post page, enter the same text excerpt where FLEET word is red on the EXCERPT textfield on the bottom. If you can’t see it you can enable it by clicking SCREEN OPTIONS on the upper right part of the page and check Excerpt. HTML codes will stay when using MANUAL excerpt.
Hope this helps.
March 23, 2016 at 3:54 am #849212Hi,
Yes, that did solve the problem.
Alternatively, I also found a plugin which allows to give parameters for excerpt selection and it does not allow the stripping of the tags (if such option is chosen during setup). Pretty neat. Might be a useful feature idea for your next update.

We certainly appreciate the feedback! This is something we can add to our list of feature requests. This way it can be taken into consideration for future development. All of these items are discussed with our team internally and prioritized based on the amount of interest a particular feature might receive. Thanks!
