I’ve added a byline to a few of my blog posts and it causes the rollover feature for the post carousel to not display any text. The darkened rollover effect still happens when you hover over the post but no text is displayed for those posts that have a byline. Can you tell me what to I need to do so that the text displays for those posts again?

An example of my problem can be seen at https://intotheharvest.org/contact/

Many thanks for any help you can offer!

    Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! I have investigated your site and it seems that there has been an invalid code inserted which broke the carousel. Did you make some template changes? Would you mind providing us the ftp login credentials so we can take a closer look? This is to ensure that we can provide you with a tailored answer to your situation. Once you have provided us with your credentials, we will be happy to assist you with everything.

To do this, you can make a post with the following info:
    – FTP Hostname
    – FTP Username
    – FTP Password

Don’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

    Thank you.

    Hello There,

Thanks for updating in and for providing the information. It turns out that one of the functions were changed. You may have accidentally added or changed something. I would highly recommend you re install X theme to make sure that all the files has the latest codes. By the way, I have added a temporary solution by having a custom function code in your child theme’s functions.php file to resolve the issue. Once you have re install X, you can remove the function code afterwards.

Hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks, I see the rollover text is displaing properly again.

I don’t know what you mean by one of the functions being changed but if I reinstall X-Theme will all the customization I have already done be lost?

    Hello Andrew,

As long as you didn’t update any code on the main X theme you’re safe. Changes and customization you made on child theme will still be there. That is the main purpose why we recommend to use child theme so that customization will be intact and safe on theme updates.

    Cheers!
