fireleafParticipantHi there,
I wan to change the layout and design of the portfolio items. I’m using X Theme with Ethos. The current layout is like on this link: http://helloarchipelago.com/wordpress/our-clients/ but I want to change it to look like the screenshot attached. I know I need to customize some files to achieve that and I’m sure my skills are good enough to do so. But I don’t know which file(s) I need to change.
The bubble should appear when the user hovers over the image. The content should be the Excerpt of the post/portfolio item
Please let me know which files need to be changed to achieve the wanted.
Many thanks in advance!April 6, 2016 at 9:10 am #869347
Paul RModeratorHi,
Thanks for writing in! Regretfully this isn’t a feature offered by X. It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities. Thanks for understanding. Take care!

fireleafParticipantHi there and thanks for your reply.
I know that this requires custom coding and I’m able to do this, no need for a developer. My question was only where the files are located, which generate the layout, I’m also familiar with child themes.
Please let me know where this view is generated so I can adept the according files in the child theme folder. Many thanks in advance.

JadeModeratorHi there,
Please check the file _portfolio.php in wp-content/themes/x/framework/views/global.
Hope this helps.

FriechModeratorHi There,
You can adjust the mydiv class top and left property value.
Further customizations from here would be getting into custom development, which is outside the scope of support we can offer. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities.
Thanks for understanding.

RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for updating. As it’s your customization and nothing related with X feature, it’s really hard to understand what’s going on and what you are trying to achieve. Unfortunately we can’t assist you on this much.
Let us know if you face any issue regarding the existing feature of X. We’ll be happy to assist you.
Thanks for understanding.
