Hello,
I am currently creating a new website on a temporary domain, and I ran into an issue when creating my portfolio. I placed in a test item to see how it would look, but when I select the item from the portfolio page, it brings me to a 404 page instead.
I am not sure why this is happening. WordPress shows me that the item exists in my portfolio, but I cannot visit the portfolio item page.
You can see my issue here (http://6e6.d21.myftpupload.com/sessions/)
Any ideas?
Thank you!

Thanks for writing in! First check your permalink settings and re-save after setting permalink structure to “Post Name”. If the issue still persist, would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password
– FTP credentialsDon’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

Thanks for all your help, Rupok.

January 20, 2017 at 2:29 pm #1338855Hey again,
Unfortunately, I spoke too soon. I am still having issues with the portfolio.
What I want is to have a cornerstone editable page named “Sessions.”
I then want my portfolio page to be named “Archive”, and to have its parent page set to “Sessions.” The URL for a portfolio item would look something like this… http://www.yoursite.com/sessions/archive/portfolioitem/I cannot for the life of me see why the pages are appearing as they are. From my WordPress dashboard, I go to the link given to me for my portfolio page and it takes me to a page that says that this page does not exist. I also cannot access a portfolio item, as the link to the item takes me to the same error page.
In addition, my “Sessions” page takes me to a strange version of a portfolio page (no page title or thumbnail for the item shown), even though I cannot find any setting pointing to this page as my portfolio page. From what I can tell from my WordPress dashboard, “Archive” is my portfolio page, but it does not appear that way on the front end of the site.
I have no idea why the pages are acting as they are. Do you have any suggestions? You can use the login information in the private post above if needed.
Thank you.
January 20, 2017 at 6:56 pm #1339197Hello There,
Thank you for the clarifications. There seems to be a permalink slug conflict. You have assigned
archive
as a portfolio slug in the customizer. And you also have a page Archive that has a page slugarchive
. You must change one of the slug to avoid the conflict. Please let me know how it goes.
January 22, 2017 at 1:30 pm #1340653Thanks Rue Nel!
That fixed it.

Feel free to ask us again.
Thanks.
January 22, 2017 at 2:05 pm #1340676The portfolio page now works great, I just have two quick questions.
1. Where can I control the look of my portfolio items on the portfolio page? Before they looked something like this (http://demo.theme.co/renew-1/portfolio/) and I would like to reflect that look on my portfolio page (http://6e6.d21.myftpupload.com/archive/).
2. I also would like to have a title on my portfolio page. As of right now, there is just this blank space above the items.
January 22, 2017 at 8:46 pm #1340969Hi there,
Thanks for writing in.
1. http://6e6.d21.myftpupload.com/archive/ this is an archive page (a blog taxonomy page like category page), it’s not a portfolio home page. You should create a page and assign Layout – Portfolio on it. I created a sample here http://6e6.d21.myftpupload.com/sample-portfolio-home-page/
2. The title should display once you create a portfolio home page as #1
Thanks!
January 23, 2017 at 10:17 am #1341695Thanks so much for your help!
Unfortunately, once I changed the portfolio item to a video (which is what my portfolio will primarily consist of in the future) the page title disappeared on the item page…
Also, is there any way to modify the size and spacing of the portfolio page in the customizer like you can with the blog (ie masonry, full width, 2 or 3 columns)? The portfolio items seem small on a larger screen and strangely just off-center.
Thanks again!
January 23, 2017 at 11:24 pm #1342616Hello There,
1.) The space on the left side on this porofolio page:http://6e6.d21.myftpupload.com/sessions/archive/ is for your left sidebar. On Appearance > Customize > Layout and Design > Content Layout: You have chosen Sidebar Left, Content Right. This setup will give you sidebar on blog index page, archive pages like this portfolio archive page and then also on your single product page. That is why it is seem off center. It is just occupying the right part where the content is supposed to be. Now if you want to remove this left sidebar on portfolio page, edit this archive page, and on Portfolio Settings > Layout: Choose Fullwidth. See attached screenshot.
Regarding the missing title on video single portfolio page, it is because you have set you main portfolio page as child page. Please note that MAIN PORTFOLIO PAGE cannot be a CHILD PAGE. Try settings your Archive page as main page without parent and the title for single portfolio page will show.
Hope this helps.
