Please think about one important and key concept in today’s online reality:
MULTIMEDIA
That is great STRAIGHTFORWARD INTEGRATION with:
AUDIO (Sound Cloud player or your own that integrates with it)
VIDEO so its presentation is clean and slick and it works when it comes to adapting from big to mobile screens. Clean Interface with options to display video controls (just the needed ones or the possibility to add some extra ones)
Simply put: BEST FUNCTIONALITY – STRAIGHTFORWARD AND CLEAN INTEGRATION OF AUDIO AND VIDEO PLAYERS
October 12, 2015 at 4:49 pm #622309Zank, thanks for your great thoughts and suggestions. You pretty much hit the nail on the head in terms of the pros and cons of both approaches, which is precisely why we’re curious to hear from our customers on the matter. Cornerstone was obviously a huge area that we decided to make the move forward with as you mentioned due to how integral a page builder is with a theme, so it was a very logical choice for us to move in that direction and we look forward to continuing to build on the foundation we’ve put forth as Cornerstone is still very young but we feel greatly improved in many workflows and we are excited to start refining those workflows more as time goes on!
Sergio, we appreciate the suggestions and we’re looking forward to seeing you very soon as well! It will be a great time. π (Additionally, are you speaking of your profile picture here in the community center? You can update this by signing up for Gravatar if you’d like. If you have any further questions don’t hesitate to shoot us an email and we can help you out if you need anything.)
soundlove, do you happen to have any examples of sites or plugins that are doing something in the multimedia space that you like? If so, let us know so we can use them as a reference.
October 13, 2015 at 11:04 pm #624162I think that adding focus for additional integrations with existing third party plugins would be the most beneficial. There are some incredible plugins on the market like
– Essential Grid by Themepunch
– The Events Calendar by Modern TribeIf X Theme had some out of the box styling for the plugins listed above the possibilities could be amazing!
October 14, 2015 at 1:23 pm #625231First Off, You guys rock…
Since the launch of X ive been using it on all my work. Its a great tool. Keep up the good work. Recently I use X with woo commerce, since then I dropped magento to make e-commerce websites… Its much easier to work with X in conjunction with woo commerce…
Thank you!
October 15, 2015 at 9:23 am #626484Here’s my take:
Email marketing – you guys do a great job integrating Mailchimp, so give us other options for capturing emails.
Also, taking a look at what ElegantThemes.com did with their latest plugin, Bloom, which allows various types of email capturing tools – from pop-ins to time delayed pop overs. I’ve used several “external ones” but none look quite as beautiful as X.
October 15, 2015 at 9:59 am #626517Hi Xees,
I suppose it was already said in other comments but here my votes for plugin integration:
1) Sensei Plugin by WooCommerce or CoursePress Pro by WPmudev
2) EventOn or Events Calendar by Tri.be
3) BackupBuddy
4) MapList Pro
5) IssueM
6) Flickrand as said in one of my previous vote on plugin integration I’d rather prefer to have full capabilities of Visual Composer than Cornerstone (even if I find it really well done).
But again these are wishes π
Have a nice day,
G from ItalyOctober 15, 2015 at 10:51 pm #627495Hey, ThemeCo!
First, I wanted to mention how much I enjoy working with Cornerstone, and I see a promising future for the visual builder and also the level of training I can provide my students moving forward. The export feature in Cornerstone is truly a game changer, and it will be awesome for creating custom page templates for my students moving forward. And yes, this is why I decided to recommend your theme to my members.
Recommendations working with X Theme and Cornerstone…
Functions:
1. I would love to see a sticky third level navigation within pages, similar to Enfolds. Third level navigation would be helpful for setting up membership courses using the third level menu for the video tutorials and also to display sub-pages/category pages of the main page. I just feel like sidebar navigation is so 2010! π
2. I would like to see better flexibility with the Accordion and Tabs feature in Cornerstone. I would like to be able to set up rows and columns with a tab set. Maybe even a small picture gallery with columns. I just want all the Cornerstone features to work the way the should within other elements.
3. Webinar integration of some sort to add functions such as scarcity countdown timer, event date, event export etc.
Plugins:
1. I would also like to see better integration with Disqus comment system. The ability to drag and drop a comment block anywhere on the page. Using templates with X is truly frustrating when I set up a Blank Page Template for landing pages. (Which is the only template I use on my site period). So I just don’t use comments for now.
2. Scheduling system for events and iCalendar and Google Calendar export, please! π
3. Podcast integration with download and open in new window buttons below player for videos and audios. (Powerpress?)
Thanks for asking!

October 16, 2015 at 6:49 pm #628580Keep up the good work guys! You do an awesome job!
October 16, 2015 at 8:28 pm #628650Hey X-Team!
As with most of the X Theme Community, I really enjoy using the product and think you guys have done a fantastic job! And, I hope that my comments below help you take the product to ever greater levels of user “Delight”.
I’m not sure at this late point in the survey that I have anything new to add that isn’t already mentioned but here goes:
1) There is just too much functionality that WP users need in various situations that it would be very challenging for the X-Team to “pick & choose” which “Custom Functionality” to focus on. Therefore, I voted for – “Additional integrations with 3rd party plug-ins” as a way to quickly and efficiently scale the X Theme feature footprint.
However, separately from the view I have expressed above I believe that there are important usability features that should be “Custom functionality developed by Themeco”. An example of this would be a “Lightbox Preview” of any Standard or Expanded Demo from within Cornerstone and Customizer. This would make it so much easier to incorporate ideas and inspiration (from the Standard/Expanded Demos) during design and theme customization regardless of the particular Stack we have selected for our design.
Stated another way, the X-Team have put together an excellent set of Standard and Expanded Demos to illustrate the power and flexibility of X Theme. However, there is no “integrated” way of making good use of these excellent Demos during the actual design and theme customization process. Yes, we can import the content of a single demo. Yes, we can open up multiple browser windows and tabs each containing a Standard/Expanded Demo. But, neither of these is ideal from a usability perspective. Having a simple Lightbox available in Cornerstone and Customizer to display pictures of Standard/Expanded Demo content across all Stacks would enable users to easily access “inspiration” when it is needed – i.e. when using Cornerstone or Customizer.
2) With respect to integration preference, I tend to orient toward – “more tools with light integration” as opposed to fewer tools with deep integration. Similar to my views expressed above, I believe this orientation supports steadily increasing the scalability of X Theme’s feature footprint especially given that design choices the X-Team have already made has led to a high level of “out-of-the-box” compatibility with existing 3rd Party plug-ins.
Examples of plug-ins that appear to be compatible with X Theme while adding highly desirable features include:
– A Full-Screen Responsive WordPress Menu Plugin (like Jumbo or Navi by Bonfire Themes)
– A Responsive Premium Grid Plugin (like Essential Grid by ThemePunch)
– A Easily Styled Popup for Any Content (like Popup Maker by Daniel Iser)Lastly, below is an example of what I view to be a potentially important plugin for the X-Team to investigate and to consider for integration with X Theme at a “deeper” level:
– ORBTR Connect, A Marketing Automation Plugin by Orbtr (https://orbtr.net/)
Keep up the great work guys!…you really are on a roll with a great platform for doing wonderful things on the web!

October 17, 2015 at 1:05 am #628831Still being new and green at WordPress, my thoughts for X Theme are:
Stabilise what you have, look at SEO, Caching and Security built in or fully integrated.. Already said, don’t reinvent the wheel, look at and talk to the major players / most popular plugins out of CodeCanyon (already mentioned).
Perhaps work through a series of plugins that you can List as “tried, Tested and Work, we are happy to give the seal of approval to”.
Very hard to get a good consensus given the vast number of plugins, and possiblities for interactions.

October 18, 2015 at 12:12 pm #630110I voted “I prefer additional integrations with third party plugins” and “I prefer fewer more involved integrations with βbig playersβ in the plugin market”.
Currently, WooCommerce, BuddyPress and bbPress are sort of okay: it’ll work and play nice with X out of the box, but that is pretty much it. Any well designed theme does that, IMHO, and if you want anything less out of the box looking, you’re on your own.
X allows people to build beautiful websites, without having to be expert coders. Until they install one of those major plugins, and their shop or forum is just a Plain Jane living in a very beautiful website :'( Especially bbPress support is severely lacking in my opinion, and nothing has been changed or improved ever since I first bought X (over a year ago).
While all the new stuff is very cool indeed, I do wish X would improve on the basics too (or even, first). I’d have built every website with X if only it would at least let me build a usuable bbPress forum, with some extra plugins (as bbPress itself is only the bare minimum). Instead, I ended up buying another theme and only just now am I using my X license on a personal site that uses Simple:Press – for obvious reasons, cos I’d have much preferred bbPress …
As an example: this is what the Vellum theme did for their bbPress integration: http://demo.vellumwp.com/forums/
Nothing special, easy enough to code, and it looks way, wayyyy better than the out of the box look X is still sporting. If that theme plays well with the GD plugins for bbPress, I’d buy it (I have yet to ask).WooCommerce is okay – nothing special or eye-catching, but with the few Customizer settings it’s ready to use and look decent. BuddyPress I have not used in over a year as it’s a little overkill for me and my websites, I found.
October 18, 2015 at 4:46 pm #630310@matt that already exsists mate. Here you go π
https://onlinemastery.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/cornerstone-modal.zip
We made it because we really needed it and have also been working on a testimonial plugin as that is the other thing we can’t live without.
October 19, 2015 at 3:24 am #630753Hmm, i think it might be available already, but i really hope for a better image gallery plugin.
The current one that’s built in for portfolio pages doesn’t seem to work well (not sure why the first image doesn’t seem to show up in the gallery. I read some replies on it in the forum but i never really understood why and how to fix it)
Other than that, this is easily the BEST wordpress theme i have ever used.
October 19, 2015 at 3:33 am #630761@steve W thanks pal, that’s really good of you to share π I’m going to have a play now… feels like Christmas morning has come early!
October 19, 2015 at 2:33 pm #631530Hey everybody! I just wanted to chime in and say thank you for all of your comments! We’re going to go ahead and close things down now and start taking in this data to discuss internally. π
