I would love to see some sort of Appointment Scheduling Plugin/Calendar.

One can look at https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=appointment or https://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=booking, but there is really nothing to chose from.

Can Theme.com come up with a better idea? I think so.

Would be very useful. There is a large share of consulting/service/hotel/rental business that X theme does not cover.

Such appointment system should bring more customers.

    Thank you.

Hi! Thanks for taking the time to get our feedback. Here are a few plugins that I would love to see integrated (better yet, bundled) with X:

    1. TinyMCE Advanced
    2. Wordfence Security (or something similar) – What’s nice about WF is that it offers both
      security and caching bundled together
    3. Enable Media Replace
    4. Enhanced Media Library

I know I snuck a fourth one in there – I’m not very good at following directions I guess! Thanks again for the opportunity to contribute! 🙂

For common plugins, i think X should only list them as recommendable plugins. Ex: TinyMCE, Yoast SEO, Ninja Firewall,…

I Like Cornerstone and your progress on pushing built-in functionality, and I’d like to see more of it – It’s solid work.

I also like powerful plugin integrations — some plugins are so well developed it’s best to incorporate them, rather than build them yourself. so IMO, your decisions should be based on ‘what’s the most used plugin-function that we could make better/more handy/easier if we did it ourselves?’

    Plugins I like & want:

    1. “Layered Popups” – versatile ‘pop-ups’ / modal window functionality
    2. can you build in ‘clone a post/page’ & ‘replace any media-file/image?’ functionality

First of all I have to say that I am a great fan of your theme and it is great to be involved in!
With regards to plugin integrations, I must honestly admit that I was a bit perplex in your choice of Cornerstone when you have Visual Composer. Same thing with the slider. Revolution Slider is the best. Why do not take it fully instead of implementing your own slider (with too basic functionalities)? I think that when you have a leader in a category, work with him, do not spend time to replicate it. It will be a gain for you and huge time savings also for us.

In a next update, I would like to have EventOn integration as well a deep integration with contact form 7 and IssueM.

But as I said in the beginning, theme is great and I am sure that you will evolve in the right direction by listening us.

    Cheers,

    Hey guys,

Just hopping in to respond to a few statements that stood out but as always, we’re taking note of everything. 🙂 Again, please do not provide feedback on general features. The purpose of this thread is to provide feedback on just the items listed in the first post. Thanks!

Carmine M, thanks for sharing! Currently, these items are removed from the editor within Cornerstone on say the Text element because ultimately, the point of a builder would be that you don’t need these tools within the “editor” of a Text element anymore. Our goal down the road (especially when making Cornerstone more freestanding) would be hopefully to have other plugin developers integrate with Cornerstone for greater compatibility by making elements for their features. A great example of this is how the “RevSlider” dropdown is in that editor, but not in Cornerstone’s Text element editors because ultimately, you can just drag and drop our Revolution Slider element to wherever it needs to go. Of course, we plan on implementing more of these natively for our big plugins we integrate, but that would be our goal going forward as Cornerstone becomes public. Beyond that, there may be some possibility for adding an option that could allow these integrations to show natively if necessary. We’ll certainly mark this down and give it some thought, thanks!

nadiaonline, great thoughts here. Remember that an integration does not impact users who do not utilize the plugin, and just because X does integrate with a plugin does not mean you have to use it. For the most part, providers like WP Engine will block plugins (even very popular ones) for doing very specialized things that they are trying to take care of in their own environment (for example, I know they don’t allow W3 Total Cache among a lot of other caching plugins that are popular in lieu of their own solutions). This tends to affect things like caching, security, et cetera, but shouldn’t impact things that are pure functionality like eCommerce, community, et cetera. Hopefully that helps to give a little more perspective on things. 🙂

gaele, any specifics on how to integrate with Yoast in a particular way? Since plugins like that are already freely available on the repository (and hence can’t/don’t need to be bundled with the theme) and take care of a pretty specific task, there’s not much I can think of in terms of an “integration” with them, but I’d definitely love to hear any ideas you may have!

GuitarPlayerStudios, we appreciate the kind words and continued support! Similar to my response to gaele above, do you have any specifics on what an “integration” with an SEO or caching plugin might look like? Also, regarding security, this is a similar situation of a pretty funneled process that the plugin itself will take care of, so other than bundling it with the theme (if possible), there might not be much custom “integration” possible, but we’re always open to specific thoughts if you have any in mind.

Kilmanagh, sort of a running theme with the last three here, but do you have any specifics on what security integration would look like to you? Is it simply bundling with a plugin provider (if possible) or something more?

Iain M, we hear you and it will always be of critical importance to us that integrations never impact those who chose not to use them. 🙂

Mark_westcott, we appreciate the thoughts on Next Gen Gallery! Definitely seeing a lot of requests for something in this ballpark so we’re keeping close watch on it.

DickPunch, thanks for chiming in! Like mentioned in the previous reply, we’re seeing a lot of inquiries about lightboxes/galleries, so this is going to be a big one for us to look into. As for MailChimp integration, we have an extension that covers just that. 🙂

contegi66, regarding Cornerstone, that was simply due to a big area we felt we could make work more seamlessly in a lot of workflows compared to what was currently available and we look forward to continuing to build upon the foundation we’ve put forth. For things such as sliders, we have always partnered with Revolution Slider since the beginning in bundling with them since they definitely have a great product and it would be a full time job taking on something that huge and specific, so we don’t have any plans to duplicate things like this (we have a simple shortcode slider we’ve always included that was intended for small image sliders, nothing as involved like Revolution Slider). Cheers!

The two things I continuously need are a good gallery solution (currently using Next Gen Gallery) and a good table formatting solution (currently using TablePress).

Really, even if these both just previewed properly in cornerstone, it would go a long way in making things easier to layout. (I’m sure that is actually no simple task) Deeper integration would be even better.

    Hey brilliant Themeco people!
Firstly, thanks for changing my web development life. Love your work.

As far as what plugin integrations I would like:-
    1. MAGIC TOOLBOX would be amazing. https://www.magictoolbox.com
    2. Ditto on the GRAVITY FORMS (or maybe you could make a better simple form builder – small annoyances with GF like the phone no. – it never works great for numbers outside of the US code, we always have to put it in as a regular number)
    3. Ditto on a decent LIGHTBOX also.

Appreciate being involved and kept in touch.

ps Have a great summit next month – Look forward t seeing you in the UK sometime!

Hi and thanks for the poll on another “cornerstone” stuff.

For the first question I think there is no one right answer. If that is some important for the users of X functionality which doesn’t exist or existing poor quality plugin which is not updated regularly and has steady development pipeline then custom development is the only option. But if there is a good quality product which can extend X functionality and fits its bar with not that much affords from Theme.co side then integration is a good option. So I believe there are options for both cases depending on the task each X user has.

For integration I think that it would be nice to have something solid that will allow us (users) to create schedules for events, update them, subscribe to them and manage submissions/participation of our users. I think that Event Espresso and EventOn are those options which deserve attention in that area (the fist one a bit overwhelming for me but it is the most extendable and rapidly developing product with a good support. I think that EventOn might fit X more nicely out of the box in style but its support and development is not that active as for the first product. So for it would be nice to hear that Theme.co will have support for any of those).

Another area which would take a lot of time to develop something really cool from scratch is Learning Management System. So I think support of such products like LearnDash, CoursePress Pro or Sensei might be very useful for many X users. I really like what BuddyBoss did in that area but I guess it took a lot of affords and thus soled as separate products.

Universal Lightbox fro any type of content (photo, video, pages etc.) is a weak point in X at the moment. But it is difficult to say if its better to go to a solution though integration with some existing product like Envira Gallery or Foo Box or custom solution. And one more point here is how media is managed inside WordPress. It is very inconvenient at the moment and it hard to guess if WP will have something to solve that in the core in next couple of years.

These are some major thought at the moment in that field.

Hey guys, I love this theme and I’m now only offering this theme option for my customers so I plan to purchase a lot more licenses as I’m a happy customer.

And I love the amazing support and that you are listening to your customers for feedback and growth. So on that note, what I enjoy about Theme X now is the “Custom Functionality” like Under Construction and White Label, as these are important steps when making sites for client and it’s great to have them readily available at our fingertips as extensions that you know will work beautifully seamless with the theme. That being said, having Integration with the “big players” as you specified is an amazing idea too.

So here are my top 2 suggestions:

    1) Project Status / Timeline (Custom Functionality)
Not to be mistaken for a Project management system. But rather a page where you client can be directed to and is sort of a “hub” where you can view project phase, status, timeline, download/share files, etc. Currently the only plugin that is type of service soley (as opposed to the whole shebang of project management) is Project Panorama. However their Lite version isn’t going to get you far and they also offer a lot more than necessary.

    2) Proof Gallery with ability for clients to like photos like Pixieset / Shootproof (Custom Functionality)
With the growth of professional photographers in the industry there’s also a boom in photography software, however a lot of them are quite fancy and offer a lot more than needed. Simply creating a gallery that you can lock with password and share with your client so they can “like” their favourites, will be a good enough extension. This feature alone will bring in all the photographers looking for a simple no-fuss solution to add to their WordPress website. (ProofBuddy is a similar service, free plugin – so could be an integration instead?)

Overall I’m excited to see more updates and growths with this awesome theme – Go Team X! 🙂
