I would love to see deep integrations with something like FeedThemSocial.

My votes are for less integration (going forward) because of possible conflicts and incompatibilities. Thanks for asking, by the way. I really like your approach. And the sliders that are built in now are great and should really work for many scenarios, as do your extensions. What I do like a lot with those integrated plugins is that they can easily be updated with X-Theme.

It would be interesting to know how the votes are weighted, i.e. the respondents are professional developers vs. authors of their own website(s). I think it makes a difference how the site is constructed when handing a finished site over to a client who then has to use and manage it, or building and managing your own site(s).

The plugins I always use and couldn’t be without are:
    Gravity Forms
    Shortcodes Ultimate
    Simple Lightbox
    BackupBuddy
    WordFence

    Great poll!

I think that, while there are many niche functionalities requested by different kinds of users, (Which would be great to cover all) :), there are some more or less universal things that X is lacking.

One of them is a great responsive gallery.

I think you don’t have to look far to find one. Envira gallery is the lightest and fastest great option out there. And it costs $249 to bundle it with a theme. Can it be better?

Next, although somewhat less than a gallery, i believe that many have need for a good responsive tables plugin.

Finally, as many have done it above, I’ll give my vote to Ubermenu.
I didn’t see a pricing plan for bundling it, but if X is officially Ubermenu-ready, and the support covers it, I’m happy.
I am planning to buy it for my next project and it would be great that it is not “out of the scope of the support”. I have seen many people wanting it, and it is no wonder, because it transforms the most prominent part of the website entirely, and for better.

In my opinion, no matter what you do, the greatest ROI on X is that you really care about your customers, and value our opinions about what should come next. That is a scarcity in the theme world – and the world in general. I have recommended this theme to more friends than I can remember. I feel like X is my secret sauce.

    Thanks, X

Oh…pop ups! Well, overlays. Like https://premium.wpmudev.org/project/the-pop-over-plugin/ That’s awesome! And Wordfence!

LearnDash! Please LearnDash I know that they have a big customer base and this would help both the theme and the plugin!

I’m torn on this poll. There are many, many good WP plugins. At the same time, having a lot of them installed on a site can slow it down. So I guess my ultimate vote would be to develop the capability many of the “smaller” plugins (e.g a lightbox, etc.) within X and integrate with major plugins for significant new feature additions (e.g. UberMenu, Event Calendar or Event Expresso, etc.)

    Hey Themeco,

The community involvement is awesome, keep it up!

Many of the organizations we’ve been working with need a solid events solution. The Events Calendar by Modern Tribe has been our go-to. It works well out of the box, but a tighter cosmetic integration would be awesome and give a more professional feel.

My next vote is for a custom announcement bar solution. The current go-to is the Announcement Bar by Themify. It works decently, but not well enough to warrant a simple integration. For this one, I’d like to see a fully custom build by X, with a particular attention to the way the bar performs on mobile. This is where I’ve run into issues with other announcement bars, including Themify’s. The ability to support multiple announcements is also must. I can expand on other “must-have” features if Themeco is interested.

Lastly, I LOVE Avada’s modals (http://theme-fusion.com/avada/modal-popup/). Having something like this – whether within Cornerstone or as a custom plugin install – would be something I can make use of on every project.

    Keep up the great work,

    Hey guys,

Just hopping back in to respond to a few comments that are standing out (but remember we’re taking note of everything). 🙂 Also, please remember this is not a feature request thread for anything, it is meant for feedback relating to the questions asked in the initial post. If you have generic feedback of ideas, please feel free to open them up in the standard feedback thread.

Jeff K, we completely understand that, which is why we’re looking to hear from people on their top plugins they’d prefer in a general direction. Every project is definitely a bit different from one to the next, but as most people here can attest, there are usually go-to plugins that some people like to use on every project (or most) for various reasons. Hopefully that helps a bit!

lexidev, great thoughts and responses! At this time we’re just taking everything in and letting it settle. I agree that different individuals or groups will use things in unique ways depending on the nature of a project or client, but at this time we just want to take in all of the feedback we can get and see if there is a general tide to any of it.

Misho, thanks for chiming in again, and as always you have some wonderful things to share. 🙂 We’re definitely seeing lots of talk around galleries (Envira being a big player) and some other functionality like that, so that appears to be high up on the list (as well as some of your other items presented).

chris_chaffin, all we can say is that we completely agree with you! Unfortunately, feeling cared for by many companies can be a scarcity in our world, but we hope in some small way we can give back to others the way we would like to be treated. 🙂 We really appreciate your kind words and continued support and will always strive to keep delivering that excellence you’ve come to enjoy.

cbordages, great thoughts and absolutely a concern we understand. Fortunately, we will continue to develop out new features in X the way we always have: adding it in for users when they need it, but not bogging down others with added functionality when they don’t want it. For instance, we only load in special integrations for plugins like WooCommerce when a user has it activated, and even still, some things like scripts or styles are only loaded on certain pages. This keeps things lean and for the user that needs it, the added bit of “weight” from the plugin is simply the nature of having it on in exchange for the functionality it provides (especially for something as complex as a storefront for example). Performance is always a chief concern of ours when any of these talks come up!

Ryan D, we also think our little community here is pretty awesome. 🙂 I’m definitely seeing more requests come through for event management plugins and can see the need in a lot of situations. Great thoughts on the announcement bar and modals as well. There are definitely plans to address modals going forward as we know they’re a huge help for a lot of situations. Thanks!

I would like to see Woocommerce more properly integrated. Right now, it’s just the template and pages generated that have styling. There’s zero support for the plugin’s shortcodes. We can’t integrate product categories into pages, created interactive lists, or show cart information attractively within Cornerstone, or even VC pages, using the standard shortcodes provided by the plugin.

Yet Woocommerce is marketed as being supported and integrated. I just don’t see that as fully true as it is. Integration is a very good part of what makes this theme wonderful, and utilizing integration with other developers may may the job of expanding your theme’s capabilities easier, and faster, since the code is pretty much supplied mostly by them already.

Definitely an example of this is allowing the easy usage of third-party menu plugins, such as UberMenu. It’s the number one request for my clients, and my students in training them with this theme… and the number one disappointment they get to hear when I tell them how limited menu abilities really are with X, even when they’ve paid for that plugin already. Allowing background images, widget functionality, and other useful and attractive functions within X like that within the menu is just something long wanted, at least on my end of things anyways. Integrating with UberMenu would be awesome, but this functionality being developed within X gives you capabilities that expand the ease-of-use of X, while also providing consistent workflow and aesthetics. – So if integrating it… how about a stack-specific theme for UberMenu for every Stack in X, when we active it.

    That’s my 2 cents here.

Activity Plus by WPMUDEV for BuddyPress would be a godsend right now.
I am really needing a way to allow my members the ability to post videos, images and links. It is a no-brainer for engagement in my opinion.

    Photo Gallery with filters
Import/Export products with variations etc. for WooCommerce
    Replace media
    Media library filters
    Back Up Buddy
Would love it if single images on a page had the ability to click and open to larger image. (Total Theme has this option using VC) Click on one of the boot images to see example on this page: http://www.stretchcvboot.com/cv-boots/
Maybe you could add it to Cornerstone? Not sure what X-Theme VC can do as I don’t use VC with X.

    Hey team,
Thanks for addressing this issue. It’s an important one for me. But even more important is plugin compatibility within the Cornerstone visual editor.

    When I plan a website i ask…

    • can I build it with X? Cuz I wanna!
    • posts vs pages or both and for what
    • and now, Cornerstone, Visual Composer or WP editor

I prefer Cornerstone. The main reason I don’t choose Cornerstone is plugin compatibility. If I can get a plugin to run in the editor I have to switch to something else.

Check the attachment and see how lonely the CS editor looks.

Is there a chance this is on your radar? Even opening up the API so developers can hook in or something?

    With Best Regards,

    -Carmine

Thanks for including us in the process. My concern is too much integration may result in limiting the use of X if alternate plug-in solution is desired. For example, WP-Engine (my host) has a list of plug-ins that conflict with their platform and we are requested not to use them.

That said, while other equally popular/better plug-ins may exist that I am not familiar with, I always use Akismet and Spam Free WP; use Jetpack, and sometimes Ultimate Posts.
    And how about Foo Gallery?

Best of luck with your decisions.

    Susan
