ParticipantI installed the theme without any problem on a test site. Today I’m trying to install it in its new permanent home and I keep getting this:
Installing Plugin from uploaded file: x.zipUnpacking the package…
Installing the plugin…
The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.
Plugin install failed.
On WordPress 3.81
I downloaded a “fresh” file
I also tried ftp of the unzipped file- it went through but isn’t showing up in the plugins pageFebruary 11, 2014 at 4:03 pm #13464Kory
KeymasterHey Dan,
Thanks for writing in and we’re sorry you’re having an issue with getting things up and running. Could you please walk us through step by step what you’re doing to install your theme and plugins, being very detailed in what files you’re trying to use to perform all actions? It sounds like you might be using something incorrectly. If you have the theme installed and working, you can follow our instructions in the Knowledge Base in the article on updating plugins to install them for the first time.
Thanks!

Participant1 uncompressed the all documents/files folder
2 from wordpress I tried to install via “upload” the x.zip file
5 minutes later I got the error message
Also tried ftp the uncompressed x folder to the /wp-content/themes/ When I open WordPress I should see the x theme in the plugins page?

KeymasterHey,
I’ve solved the problem by uploading the plugins manually. You can find the plugins under /x/framework/plugins/.

Participanti’m running into the SAME problem. I have another site where I had no issue installing the X-Theme plugin, but now on this new one, I get the same error as stated in this thread: The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.
Here was my issue — I was installing x.zip as a plugin and not a theme. It’s a theme.
Then I can go to the /x/framework/plugins and install each of the plugins…
That was my solution.
