ChrisJRVParticipantHello, looking for help in deleting the text ‘placeholder’ on my homepage. It doesn’t appear when editing or in cornerstone.
Also, looking to add the ethos 3 video slider on my homepage.
Thanks! I’m marking the next post private and posting login below.April 3, 2016 at 10:11 am #864725

RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for writing in.I can’t see any placeholder. Would you attach a screenshot that where you are seeing this?
You can use Revolution Slider with a video background. Let’s follow the Revolution Slider Documentation .
You could also download and import a slider from here to get started quickly – https://revolution.themepunch.com/free-slider-exchange/
Cheers!

ChrisJRVParticipantThanks Rupok. Here’s a screenshot of what I see when I click ‘view site’. Notice how the pictures are unaligned (and the text appears)?
Thanks.April 12, 2016 at 11:20 pm #879342
RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for clarifying. It’s actually broken image that caused by empty image element. That is you have added image element but didn’t upload image to that. If you switch to skeleton mode then you will be able to see them easily – http://prntscr.com/arlq1u
Let’s remove them if you don’t need those.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!

ChrisJRVParticipantThanks Rupok. Something different came up: all of a sudden, I cannot delete any element when using cornerstone, either through the inspector or skeleton mode. When I click the “Yep” or the “Nope” (I’m sure I want to delete, nothing happens. No error message, its as if the click doesn’t happen.
Totally stumped, your help appreciated! Thanks!April 14, 2016 at 10:24 pm #883501
RupokMemberHi there,
Thanks for updating. This has been confirmed to be an issue with old versions of Cornerstone after updating to WordPress 4.5
Try updating Cornerstone to the latest version (1.2.4) and it should be resolved.
Cheers!

ChrisJRVParticipantThanks Rupok. Do I need to update manually via FTP (and how do I do that?). The WP dashboard isn’t showing an update to do it automatically in either the “Updates” settings or the Plugins section.

FriechModeratorHi There,
Yes, you can do a manual update since your X|Theme and Cornerstone is a few update behind. You can follow the guide provided here.
Hope it helps, Cheers!

ChrisJRVParticipantThanks. Sorry to bug you with basics again, but when I access my account in envato and look under downloads, all I find is The X Theme, not a separate download for cornerstone. When I explore the X Theme update .zip I don’t notice a particular folder/package for cornerstone. Any hints?
Thanks!April 18, 2016 at 9:19 pm #889176
FriechModeratorHi There,
Please extract the x.zip file, navigate to this directory \x\framework\plugins\, you will see a cornerstone.zip file there, which is the cornerstone installer.
Extract that cornerstone.zip and upload the cornerstone folder under \wp-content\plugins\. Make sure you delete the existing cornerstone folder on that directory first, before you upload the latest cornerstone.
Do the same thing for X theme. Upload the extracted x folder from x.zip on this directory \wp-content\themes\, make sure your delete the existing x folder there first.
Hope it helps, Cheers!
