hjrasmusParticipantHi
I just tried to make a backup using Duplicator plugin. Only to find out that it was impossible, mainly because of a php_errorlog file size of 1.42 GB.This is the error log for http://savingourplanet.net – running on X theme
On my other sites, http://theclimatecinema.org and http://i-maginable.com – not using X, the php error log file is just a few KB.
I´m not a programming pro, and I do not know how to use the php error log. It´s just there, generated automatically. So: What will you advice me to do? Is there something wrong with my X settings since it´s generating this huge file? What should I do about it?? Can I just delete the php error log file and live without it? Or will that create damage to the site????
This site is quite important to me and many others
Please help.April 18, 2016 at 5:37 am #887978
Paul RModeratorHi,
We need to be able to check the file to see what errors it is generating.
Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password
– FTP credentialsFor now please make sure you have the latest version of the theme and plugins.
The latest version numbers as of this time are: (http://theme.co/changelog/)
Theme 4.4.2
Cornerstone 1.2.4Then you can compare them to what’s installed on your site.
If you find anything to be out of date, you can review our update guide.
With regards to duplicator plugin, you may exclude the error log file when creating your backup. It will not affect anything in your site.

LelyModeratorHi There,
We’re sorry you’re having this issue. Upon checking, the error log is now almost 1.7 GB. It would take hours to download the file and it might affect your site performance. It would be better if you can download the error log file on the time where sites visit is less and then you may forward to us the last 100 lines of the error log so we can check further where it is coming from. We will be happy to help you once we have those information. Thank you for understanding.

hjrasmusParticipantThanks for your reply
I had a copy of the file on my laptop. I attach the last lines. (downloaded 3 days ago) – see attachment.
It seems to me that it is the plugin Backup to Dropbox that makes the trouble, so I´ll deactivate it immediately after sending this.
So will you please get rid of this huge file for med and replace it with something normal?
Thank you

JackKeymasterHi there,
Thanks for writing back! It’s definitely the dropbox plugin causing the issue, though it’s strange, as the attached error log didn’t have any errors, warnings or notices, it was more of a action log of what the plugin had done.
I’d recommend finding a alternative to that plugin that was being used, then delete the error log via ftp (which is safe to do so, any future errors will automatically generate a new error log). You should then be able to make the backup you want to.
Thanks!
