micheleParticipantHi, I changed my pages structures so that some of my existing pages became children of a parent page, which then changed the url from say bestofourshire.com/coffee-shops-in-aberdeenshire, to bestofourshire.com/places-to-eat/coffee-shops-in-aberdeenshire.
I can’t change the structure under the snippets preview, as the slug will just let you change the page name – and what is happening is some of my pages are starting to appear in google as they have been indexed before I changed the page structure – and when you try visit these pages you get an error. I looked at the yoast advanced part and it says ‘The canonical URL that this page should point to, leave empty to default to permalink. ‘ – they are blank but it is not pointing to the new site structure page. Would you mind advising me what I should do, many thanks,MicheleApril 23, 2016 at 8:14 am #896618
micheleParticipantHI. sorry for bothering you , I think I worked it out after reading other posts- Iwent to my permalink settings and moved it to post instead of custom, and it seems to be working now. Phew, I thought I was going to have to redirect everything – would this sort it out?
Many thanks
