So after trying all the various stacks, and reading through these forums, it appears that there is no way to include blog post excerpts without editing the js?

Is this true? If so… why in the world would a WordPress template be built without being able to include blog post excerpts?

I’d love to hear the thinking behind that. Especially when using the customizer it asks what length of excerpt you would like to display.

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in! You can display excerpt for each post without editing the JS. To do this, just add excerpt in the post excerpt metabox (see attached) and it should be displayed on blog page.

Thanks for getting back to me. I don’t see that metabox. Is there something I have to change in settings, or add a plugin in order to see that?

I found it through another forum: Going to screen options and selecting the ‘excerpt’ box. So I’ve typed text into that box, but it still doesn’t show on the homepage. Hmm.

Maybe I’m using the term ‘excerpt’ wrong. I’m trying to get the post content to show up on the homepage blogroll. Thanks for any help you can offer.
