I’m just getting started with X Theme. I’m in the initial setup of the theme where you set the global attributes. I have not hit Save and Activiate yet. I realize that there is going to be short codes from the old theme I’m going to have to delete to clean up the pages. My issue is this: the text on all the pages shows up (surrounded by all the short code) – except on blog posts. I don’t want to lose all that text. Is there something I’m missing or a way to ensure I don’t lose all that text?

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

X-shortcodes plugin have been integrated into Cornerstone builder. So you can safely uninstall X-shortcodes plugin and then install Cornerstone plugin through X Addons section.

However, it’s highly recommend to take a full backup of your site before updating.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I seem to be missing something because I’m not sure how this relates to my issue with the text of the blog posts not showing up. Is the x-shortcodes plugin part of the problem?

    Hi There,

    Thanks for the update.

Usually, there is conflicts showing if you install both x-shortcode and cornerstone. Latest version of x theme works well with cornerstone only and cornerstone does have a X-shortcodes in it already.

Let us know how it goes.

    Thanks.

I don’t have an x-shortcodes plugin, at least not one in the plugins directory. I did find something interesting, but I’m not sure what or if it means anything. A short explanation might help.

Currently, I’m just in the initial set up with X Theme and I have not clicked on the Save & Activate button yet. The reason is because the text on the blog posts does not show up in the preview window. All the other text on the site does. In the meantime, I decided to look at the View Frame Source. On all the pages I can see the text of the page within the coding. On the blog posts, I don’t see any of the text that should be on the page. Because I still have the old theme active, the text does show up on my website. So, the text is there somewhere, but I don’t know where.

My concern is that if I continue with activating X Theme, all that text from all my blogs posts is going to disappear. That would not be good. I do appreciate that X Theme has this initial set up with preview so that I saw the potential problem.

    I appreciate your help!

One thing I forgot to mention. As far as I can tell, the problem is with the way the old theme did things, not X Theme. The blog post text is there somewhere. I would just like to know if X Theme will be able to find it or what could be done to make sure it does.

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

The issue is with VC shortcode output on blog page, right?
Please note that shortcodes couldn’t be part of excerpt, you’ll need to add manual excerpt. Other blog posts displays fine, see the attachment.

    Hope it helps.

I figured out how to fix the problem, although it’s a bit of a pain. Using the old theme, if I edit from the text window instead of the visual one, I can delete all that code and the text shows up properly as in the left post in the attachment.

    Thanks for your help!
