    Hi,

I am trying to figure out the best way to translate my website to multiple languages. I have started one year ago by building the website http://www.apnea.si/ and I did it using Cornerstone in Slovene. Afterwards I decided to use qTranslate to translate it and ran into a problem that I could no longer use Cornerstone with it – qTranslate only lets you edit the raw HTML code, but not with the cornerstone. I managed to do it this way and translated the site in English (currently English is disabled).
But the issue is that now I can’t edit the pages with Cornerstone, since turning on Cornerstone would mean losing my translations – or at least I should copy them once more after I’m done with editing. And I don’t mind editing the raw HTMl code, since I was a web developer, but let’s face it – the text editor in wordpress really isn’t for doing anything more than the small text changes.
Additionally I tried tricking the qTranslate, by creating two seaparate pages – one only with Slovene language and one only with English with the same URL for both, but wordpress doesn’t allow that, naturally..

So I’m pretty sure there is a better way to do it. Maybe with another plugin, maybe with another “trick”, but every other solution I searched for had similar problems (I read about WMPL as well, but it seems it has the same issues, though I didn’t try it).

Please, tell me I missed a solution:)

    Hi there,

    Thanks for writing in.

You should try WPML or Polylang too. What similar problem does WPML have? I have been using that with no issue at least on my preferred setup. Cornerstone is usable with WPML since it uses dedicated page/copy for each language

I had the same experience with qTranslate, or maybe it’s just not that compatible with some setup. I would try WPML if I were you 🙂

    Thanks!
