Hi,
I am having so much trouble making a multi language site with X theme.
Background: Localhost development, newest versions of xtheme, newest PHP running on Mamp, newest version of WordPress. Multilingual plugin: Polylang.
End Goal: Bilingual English Japanese site, using exact same content, but respective languages.
Trouble:
I create a front page, customize it to my liking. In polylang, the workflow is to create a new, translated page. I then follow the prompts, create a Japanese page. I understand that in order to continue editing in cornerstone with duplicate pages, I can’t just copy and paste text from the text editor. I have to export my page as a template, and upload to my new duplicate page to retain cornerstone editing capability (am I correct on this one?)
Now that I have created the two Front pages, I am running into some weird problems.
Although I have set my English page as my front page, when I visit my site, it automatically jumps to the Japanese translation of that page. When I go to edit my English Front page via page editor => edit with cornerstone, it says
“NOTHING TO SHOW RIGHT NOW
It appears whatever you were looking for is no longer here or perhaps wasn’t here to begin with. You might want to try starting over from the homepage to see if you can find what you’re after from there.”with the url showing http://localhost/nameofsite/ja/?cornerstone=1
I’m at my wits end trying to solve this problem. Please help.

Yes you are in the right path in doing your page translation. Since you are working locally, please share to us your local WordPress dev site by following the steps indicated here:

Sorry but none of the links work out for us. Is there in anyway you can put up your site online so that we can check your setup?
Hope you can sort this out. Thank you.
