Today I was showing the site to the client, and was making a few modifications in Cornerstone, when to my embarrassment I was unable to drag any content into a column. The content object would seem to drag okay, but no “+” appeared at the cursor and no successful drop occurred.
Eventually, it occurred to me that I was using the new Edge browser in Windows 10 (not what I use on my Win10 desktop system where I do my actual work). Switched to Chrome and all was normal, so the problem is specific to Edge. This may be a problem with Edge rather than Cornerstone, but I thought I’d pass this along so your devs can check into it.
WP 4.3.1, X 4.1.1, Cornerstone 1.0.6
November 4, 2015 at 4:45 am #651978Hi there,
Thanks for writing in! Microsoft Edge is pretty new and Cornerstone may not be fully compatible with it. We are currently also looking into some of the drag and drop issues mentioned for Internet Explorer. With Cornerstone, we have worked very hard to keep things as “native” as possible using things like HTML5 drag and drop along with other web technologies. However, moving forward it looks as though we may need to investigate some fallback functionality for browsers that do not implement this as cleanly as others (i.e. Internet Explorer). For the time being, you can utilize Chrome as you’ve mentioned to build out your pages and know that this is something we’re looking into to remedy as quickly as possible.
Thanks
