Hi there,
May I say that support is awesome and that X, so far has been a really good experience.
I am moving onto my 2nd and 3rd sites with X!
However, with my first site I am a bit worried. I just spent 3 – 4 hours in a struggle to move a site from a test server to a live server – (with another theme).
Mainly, the issues were in importing media, but I had to recustomise the the site
Is there a fast solution where I am able to save the customisations that I have done from within the design tools you provide? I think I read it somewhere, but I am not sure what/where/how/who/when etc…
Can you point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance,
Felixius
March 12, 2015 at 1:58 am #225689Hello Felixius,
There are many ways to move your WordPress from development site to your live site. All of those steps is not as simple as you might want to. Just like what is mention on this article: https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/wordpress/transfer-wordpress/
If you want fast and easy solution, we could suggest you use a plugin to do the job for you. To name a few, there is VaultPress, BackupBuddy, WP Migrate DB Pro, InfiniteWP, ManageWP, WPRemote and so many others. We’ve tried one of the few and it just works flawlessly. No hassles.
We hope our suggestions helps.
Cheers.
March 12, 2015 at 5:16 pm #226253Thanks for the info!
Which particular one did you use that worked flawlessly for you?
I don’t hold you or Theme.Co responsible for its performance if things go awry of course!
I would be a mindless moron if I took your suggestion as advice ^_^.
Anyway, gimme gimme the info!
And that would also move all the wonderful X-Theme customisations as well?

March 12, 2015 at 10:33 pm #226403Hi Again,
Well, you could try WP Migrate DB. We must tell you, please, please, please make some backup before doing anything. Try it first in your local dev maybe more than twice just to be sure. You can even set up a dummy test site and transfer it to another dummy test site. It’s better than sorry 😀
Yes everything will be copied. And if something is not working, you can always have a backup.
Please let us know how did it goes.

October 18, 2015 at 6:21 pm #630357Sorry to bother you on this. I am upgrading to a higher performance managed server and i have no clue the steps to move my site. I was just wondering if you could direct me somewhere that shows the people who don’t know what they are doing, on how to do it?
Thank you so much
CarolynOctober 18, 2015 at 11:27 pm #630526Hi Carolyn,
If you search on our forum, you will find lot of questions on this with lot of resources, suggestions and user experiences. So it’s best to search on forum first before asking.
However you can use a third party plugin like https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/ to do it easily.
Also you can check the following resource to get detailed information about migrating your website (http://www.wpexplorer.com/migrating-wordpress-website/).
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
