    Hi there

I’m trying to get momentum scrolling to work when on mobile but it suddenly stops scrolling when I lift the finger… and that’s pretty annoying.

    1. I’m using the newest version of X theme
    2. I’m using Visual Composer 4.12

    What can I do?

    Cheers
    Philip

    Hey Philip,

Sorry but I don’t understand what you mean by momentum scrolling. Are you referring to the Smooth Scroll extension?

    Thanks.

    Hi Christian

    Did you check the page?

    http://www.projektgamedesign.ch

As soon as I lift the finger, the scrolling stops … but from my pov that shouldn’t be the case. Every other page on the internet smoothly scrolls.

I’m using Safari or Chrome on the iPhone 6s – the issues appears in both browsers…

    Do you see the problem?

    Thx for your help!
    Cheers

    Hi there,

It seems you have opened another thread with the same topic – https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/help-momentum-scrolling-not-working/

As asked earlier, clarify what you are referring by “momentum scrolling” and how you have set this.

    Thanks!

    Hi Rupok

Did you check the page on an iPhone (Safari or Chrome)? When trying to scroll down, the scrolling stops immediately when the finger is lifted. Normally it should scroll further and kinda stop slowly, as if the “fraction” would get higher or so…

I cannot describe it more thorough… I tried to google the phenomen and stumbled upon this expression: Momentum scrolling… but obviously it has nothing to do with it.

As mentioned earlier, the parallex and counter-effect doesn’t work either!

    Do you see the issue?
    Thx for your help!

    Hi Philip,

I have tried your site with Mobile device (Chrome and Firefox on Android) but didn’t face any issue. Are you facing this with iPhone only?

    Thanks!

    Hi Rupok

The issue appears on an iPhone 6s in Safari or Chrome Browser – I cannot tell wether it’s also appearing on other devices as I can’t test on other devices.

But I realized, that e.g. the Parallex-effect works for a few seconds while loading – and then stops working, when the background image has finished loading.

The weird thing is, that – while loading, the background image appears to adjust to the screen-size of the iphone (like it’s inside the container) and then gets suddenly wider after being loaded.

    I’d really appreciate your help!
    Cheers

    Hi Philip,

Parallax is disabled on mobile due to performance reason and you should not get this on mobile devices. Can you attach a screenshot for your issue?

    Thanks!

    Hi Rupok

You’ll see, that – compared with another website, the scrolling on my page doesn’t work as expected:

Do you see what I mean?

    Hi Philip,

Thanks for clarifying. Certainly it’s not usual. I don’t have iPhone to check right now but I tried with iPad and some other Android devices but can’t see the issue. If your other pages on the same site is scrolling smoothly then you might have some script that’s making the page unresponsive and sluggish on webkit browsers. I that case; check your RAW Content and Text element and take off the custom codes (that contains HTML or scripts) and check again. If you are using any Custom JS, take off them as well to make sure it’s not causing this.

Let us know how it goes. We’ll try to check on iPhone meantime.

    Cheers!
