Hello Themco,
I hope you can assist me with this little issue.
The social media icons in the footer as well as other icons throughout the website disappear after i change the “Site Address (URL): in Settings > General
Cornerstone is also not functional after i do that.We use the “Icon” Stack,
web URL: http://xgopportunity.com/topspotThe site is hosted on Microsoft Azure and the icons show up properly on the direct server URL http://xgwp.azurewebsites.net , so my guess is that it has something to do where the icon file is located.
How can i fix that?

October 7, 2015 at 12:43 am #614346Hi,
Thanks for writing in!
Upon checking, I can see some resources are still pointing to your old url.
You can try this third party plugin to update all old url in your site to your new url.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-migrate-db/
Hope that helps.
October 7, 2015 at 1:23 pm #615442Perhaps i did not provide enough details.
I didn’t migrate of duplicate the site, i simply changed the URL in the settings.
This migration plugin is not clear to me how it would fix the URL issue. I have to export the file and then import it back into the same database i suppose. My concern would be that something else is going to break. I’m not that versed to play around with the db and i’m fairly new to WordPress. I don’t really have the time to set up a dev site to test this out right now, so i was hoping you would know a quick solution. I would imagine that i’m not the first one to encounter this, but i couldn’t find anything like this in the forum. Is this the only way this can be resolved?
Thanks.
October 7, 2015 at 2:56 pm #615561NEVER MIND! 🙂
I figured it out.
After reading through https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL
I decided to give it a shot on a duplicated site and i changed the “WordPress Address (URL)” in the settings as well.It kicked me out and I had to log in under the new domain name and it worked. My fear was that i would b locked out of the admin site, but that’s not the case. Like i said, i’m new to WP and learning every day.
So, for anyone with the same concern, below is a screenshot of the settings. BOTH fields need to show your new URL if you are pointing a different domain to wherever your WP site is located.
Thanks ThemeCo, i love the X – Theme, it makes things easy 😉
