For me it seems to work now, after deleting and updating the plugin. Thanks for the tip, gonna try some things to see if everything is fine.
April 19, 2014 at 3:37 pm #35171Victoria, this is most strange as we have only encountered this message when going through the steps outlined in the thread that we directed you to. Please ensure that you have all of your software updated to the following versions:
- WordPress (v3.9)
- X (v1.8.3)
- X – Shortcodes (v2.1.0)
- Visual Composer (v4.1)
- Revolution Slider (v4.3.6)
If everything is updated as follows, then we might need your login credentials for us to take a look at things. You can provide them below in a thread, simply make sure to select Set as private reply to ensure that your information remains private.
Cy, similar to Victoria, please ensure that all of your software (i.e. WordPress, the theme, plugins, et cetera) are updated to the versions listed above. The saving error you’ve described in your post only happened to us when we first tried to make edits to a section of Visual Composer that has been disabled as it is not used with our shortcodes. If you have everything up to date, you should not be seeing this section and this error should not be encountered. If everything is updated to the versions listed above, please provide us with very specific details on how to recreate the saving issue as we cannot seem to do this at this time. Also, keep in mind this is Visual Composer specific functionality, so we do not have any control over how it works, so any issues will likely need to be handled by a release from the Visual Composer team (they seem to be releasing a lot of “patches” lately due to numerous issues that have arisen with their most recent outings).
Percy, we’re thrilled to hear everything seems to be in order for you. It sounds like once you ensured that everything was properly overwritten that it all came together. We encourage our other users to also double-check their information to see if anything didn’t get updated properly as any errors that arise are likely due to something being out of sync. To anyone reading, please make sure that your versions of all software match the versions above. If everything is updated properly and you’re still experiencing issues, we of course want to hear from you so we can help you sort through the issues and ask that you provide us with very specific details on the matters you’re encountering so that we can more thoroughly and effectively troubleshoot things for you.
Thanks!
April 21, 2014 at 5:29 pm #35687Hi guys
Just found the thread about VC and will go through that. I tried a different theme and it’s doing the exact same thing so obviously it’s VC not X, and I just wanted to say I appreciate everything you guys are doing!
Great work.April 22, 2014 at 1:58 am #35857Thank you for your kind words, Victoria. 🙂 We appreciate you looking into these areas and for your understanding of the situation. We know that these things are never fun but certainly want our users to know that we are doing everything within our power to assist in this matter even though Visual Composer is presenting problems and we don’t have any control over their release cycle or issues that come up because of that. We will continue to monitor this situation closely in an effort to help our users find resolution.
May 24, 2014 at 8:54 am #48045I am missing all but 6 elements in VC
I have uninstalled and deleted it and then downloaded and reinstalled and still the same. How do I get all the elements?
I have Ver 4.1.2 installed and WordPress is up to date.UPDATE: Ignore this, have just found where all the elements are. For those who have this problem, go to your setting and click on Visual Composer there and add all the elements in so they will be there when you edit or create a page.
May 25, 2014 at 1:23 am #48207Thanks for sharing the setting Gina.
