IAmSuperMikeParticipantHi Guys,
I am currently using X theme and cornerstone on a server that is hosted as an Microsoft Azure webapp that is effectively an IIS box.
I am looking into the possibility to migrating to a new, Apache based, server. Due to multiple PHP issues i have faced with plugins. I am hoping to just take the pages, menus and design changes i have made and installing from scratch on top of a brand new WordPress instance.
What would be the ‘easiest’ way of me doing this? I am using the x-child theme for the customisation. Would i be correct in believing i will just need to reinstall the theme. Download the relevant demo content and then upload the x-child theme i am using on my existing server?
Thanks,
MikeJanuary 29, 2017 at 10:20 pm #1350232
LelyModeratorHello Mike,
Thanks for posting in.
1.) Doing that means we have to backup your customizer settings. Go to Addons > Customizer Manager > Export
2.) Open your existing pages using Cornerstone and then save it as templates.
3.)Install vanilla wordpress on to the new site hosting.
4.) Install x theme and the same child theme you have from current site. This means that from your current hosting get the folder x-child from this folder wp-content/themes/ and then upload it on the same path on your new hosting.
5.) Activate the child theme.
6.) Import the json file you have from step #1.
7.) Create the pages again and then import the cornerstone template you have save from step #2.
8.) Setup other settings and the Menu too.
Hope this helps.

IAmSuperMikeParticipantI have followed the steps outlined above but when I import onto the new host I get an error saying the file is not properly formatted..
I have attached the file I am trying to upload and the error message I am seeing.
Thanks,

IAmSuperMikeParticipantUnfortunately it did not let me upload as a .json so I have added.txt, hopefully that will work

DarshanaModeratorHi there,
We also have Cornerstone migration guide outlined here (https://community.theme.co/kb/cornerstone-migration/).
I have corrected the issue on your JSON file. Could you please try with the following file that I have attached (you can rename with the extension and upload).
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!January 31, 2017 at 7:26 am #1352204
IAmSuperMikeParticipantThis didn’t resolve the issue. I am still encountering the same error…

IAmSuperMikeParticipantAlso, this is happening with all pages that I have exported using cornerstone. I followed the steps exactly as laid out in the guide you provided.

IAmSuperMikeParticipantOk, so nothing has changed that I am aware of however on the new host cornerstone is now loading as per the image attached..
Can we get this looked into ASAP as it is now of critical urgency for my client?!January 31, 2017 at 3:06 pm #1352775

FriechModeratorHi There,
Thanks for the credentials, is the site is under a CND (CloudFront)? Please deactivate that for now and clear its caching. There is a lot of 403 error on your site right now.
Thanks.
