AljookParticipantHello,
I am setting up a page with a custom widget menu that is sticky on the content. The clicking to scroll works as expected. But my problem is, that when I click on a menu item, it scrolls to the correct #id, but since now the floating menu is there also, it covers some of the content it has scrolled to. Is there some CSS that I could use to modify the amount of scrolling is done?
(Scroll to section #this, but -100px, for example)Cheers!

AljookParticipantHey again,
Noticed a few other things. Right now I have used the headings’ id-s to mark the place where to scroll, but some id-s scroll correctly and some too far (considering only the navbar bottom edhe), so the heading and a bit of the pictures scroll completely out of the viewport.
If I can give any more information, please let me know!
Cheers!

FriechModeratorHi There,
Regretfully, at this time I am not entirely certain what it is you would like to accomplish based on the information given in your post. If you wouldn’t mind providing us with a little more clarification on what it is you’re wanting to do (perhaps some screenshots), we’ll be happy to provide you with a response once we have a better understanding of the situation.
Regarding the scrolling, please apply your IDs directly on the Section.
Thanks.

AljookParticipantHello,
Regarding giving more info. What I mean is the responsive functionality of cornerstone. in cornerstone view settings it is possible to switch between different window sizes (or devices). I attached two screenshots. Screenshot nr 1 shows the original (Extra Large) version. Screenshot nr 2 shows the second largest version (Large). Now, as I begin to make the Extra Large version’s width smaller, the contacts (on e-difice.com/kontakt) go closer and closer until it triggers and the layout is switched to version “Large”. What I am aiming to achieve is to make the trigger happen at a larger screen width than it is currently happening, because the thinner end of the “Extra Large” version cramps up the contacts too much. Can this be done?
Regarding the scrolling (on e-difice.com/digitaalehituse-klaster), I went and deleted all custom ID’s and used the generated ID’s on the menu. Now, all the menu items on the custom menu link to the different sets of companies that are listed (one section for each group). I have two problems:
1. Underlying problem: If I consider only the top main navbar, then some links scroll correctly, so the group’s header text is also shown below the navbar, but some links scroll past the header texts. Can I do anything regarding this?
2. What I am ideally trying to achieve, is this: When I click on any menu items on the floating menu, I would like it to scroll so the corresponding group’s header text stops under the floating menu ( around 80-100px below the navbar ). Can this be done somehow?
Also, the scrolling is smooth only on the first click, after that, it instantly jumps to the section you clicked on.
Really, thanks alot for helping me out with this!
Cheers!

FriechModeratorHi There,
Thank you for the clarification. You can make that 3 and 2 columns (large) layout as default, so even if you view the page on extra large screen it will show you the 3 and 2 columns. To do this make the said Section 2 ROWs (actually 3 rows, one whole rows for the custom headline (DIGITAALEHITUSE KLASTRI JUHATUS)), then make the second and third rows 3 columns. On the second row add 3 clusters and on the third row place the remaining 2 clusters.
Regretfully, the floating menu feature you’re trying to achieve require a custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities.
Thanks for understanding.

AljookParticipantHello
Okay, I will another way then way then (because the scrolling modification isn’t actually custom development on the floating menu plugin, but modifying a regular menu’s scroll distance):
If I have set up one page navigation, and want a menu item to link to a “certain section – 100px”, how should I go about making it happen?
Thanks!
Cheers!

RadModeratorHi there,
The modification is the same as customization and floating menu here http://e-difice.com/digitaalehituse-klaster/ isn’t X default menu. It’s simply a widget with links. Scrolling with offset positioning is only possible with X’s default menu.
Modifying the core functionality that is responsible for main navigation’s positioning is not recommended. Still doable, but we can’t provide custom development.
Thanks for understanding.

AljookParticipantHello,
Just to clarify. Even if I just set up onepage navigation as per your online guide, with the default X menu (not talking about the floating menu right now), and asked how to offset the scrolling a bit.. that would still be considered “outside the scope of your support”?
Cheers!

RadModeratorHi there,
If it needs modification of existing feature, hence, customization through hard coding. Then we can’t cover that, and the default menu has no issue with positioning. It’s only the floating menu that has the issue since it’s not part of default menu where positioning is calculated.
Thanks!

AljookParticipantHello,
Ok, I won’t bother you with this anymore then, it’s just surprising to me that other instances of modifying existing features, like removing navbar button colored lines, making menu items unclickable, removing navbar shadow and countless others are okay to be included in support.
I will search elsewhere..
Have a nice day!
