I’ve just noticed that my media library is not showing all the images that are in the library. I can go into the file manager and see the images in the public_html/wp-content/uploads/ folders, but when I go to the library, they aren’t there. I deactivated all the plugins to see if that was an issue, but it wasn’t.
I recently went through my uploads folder and removed some of the duplicates because I was going to exceed the server space. As near as I can tell, all those images that don’t have duplicates are now not showing in the media library. Only those that have duplicates (ie: different sizes 220×272, 150×150, 198×300 etc) appear in the media library. The images still show up on the pages where I inserted them, they just don’t show in the library, so I can’t choose them for more pages.
I’m using WordPress 4.7.3 using a child X theme 1.0.0 and cornerstone plugin 1.3.3. My site is http://www.claireboston.com
Could this be a theme issue, or a WordPress issue? Can you help?
    Regards
    Claire

    Hello Claire,

This is a wordpress issue and not theme related.
Uploads folder content shouldn’t be delete using FTP.
To clean duplicate images and for other information regarding Media Library, please check this article:https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/wordpress-media-library-hidden-features/

    Hope this helps.
