Hi!
Is it possible to have a masonry style portfolio? I’m trying to achieve this in the Renew stack. For the blog it’s no problem, but I cannot get it done for my portfolio.
If it isn’t possible, can you recommend a plugin perhaps that works well with your theme?
Thanks!Maikel

Thanks for writing in.
Yes, it is possible. In fact, the feature is built in. Click here for a demo.
Can you give us the URL of the site you are working on? That will enable us to see the problem more clearly. 🙂
February 4, 2014 at 7:25 am #10879Oh, snap… of course… All my images in my portfolio are the same width and height so far… so duh…
They say; there are no stupid questions…. only stupid people…Is it possible to have one post/image to be stretched over two columns for example?
And then one image over three columns, and the next one just one and so on and so on…And if I could lose the padding, so that the images are ‘pasted’ together, that would be even nicer/
here’s the portfolio: http://www240.ws20.tijdelijke-url.nl/portfolio/
thanks for your time!
February 4, 2014 at 7:26 am #10881and (I’m on a roll now…) is it possible to show only posts from a certain category? That way I can make multiple portfolios and categorise them.
February 5, 2014 at 12:34 am #11118Hey Maikel,
Thanks for writing in! Regretfully, at this time there is no way to stretch an image across two columns. Could you provide us with some more information on the padding you’re trying to remove? When you say this, do you mean the spacing between images and their columns, or do you mean the spacing between the image and the grey border that surrounds it? You can show posts only from a certain category, but it is by using the category archive page for each category. You can link to these by going to Appearance > Menus and adding in category links to your navigation. You will not have the filtering options, but you can set these archive pages to have a masonry style by going to Customizer > Blog > Archive and setting the style to Masonry. Finally, you can set the title of your category archive pages by going to the category edit screens for your taxonomies and entering in different titles for the Archive Title file. There is more information on this in detail in the most recent release notes of the theme.
Thanks!
February 5, 2014 at 6:48 am #11222Thanks for your detailed answer! I’l try to get it done this way.
By removing padding I ment that I want the images to stick together, so no borders or spacing between images at all (or just a one pixel line perhaps). So, as you say ‘the spacing between images and their columns’.

It’s our pleasure to help. 🙂
