There is some errant code showing up before and after the Mailchimp form. When I take the shortcode out, the problem goes away. Thoughts?

Could you please deactivate X-Shortcodes plugin and then install the CornerStone?
To install the CornerStone plugin, please navigate to X – Addons > Extensions > install CornerStone:

Then tell us how it goes.

I have the same problem, but have not installed cornerstone because I’m afraid it will mess up my VC pages. Dont have time to convert all pages just yet. Can I safely install cornerstone to avoid the mailchimp-problem With no negative effects on my VC pages?

VC and Cornerstone will work great together if you will remove x-shortcode and install Cornerstone and X theme Version 4+.
