markusp80ParticipantHi!
I don’t know if you guys Themeco are the ones who develop this extension, or how does it work?
Anyways, I am using the Mailchimp Email form on a page where people can sign up for a webinar on this page: http://offers.spintr.com/spintr-webinar-17-feb-2017/ The connection to Mailchimp works perfectly. The email gets inserted into the list in Mailchimp that I have chosen and so on.
BUT, there is one problem. Whenever a user enter his email to sign up for the webinar, a “final welcome email” gets sent from Mailchimp automatically. I do not want this email to be sent.
I have just been in contact with the Mailchimp support regarding this issue and we have sorted it out and tested it thoroughly. The settings in Mailchimp are correct. For the list in question I have NOT selected “send final welcome email”. This feature is also deactivated by default, so it SHOULDN’T send out a final welcome email, but it does.
I have also read through this thread: https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/mailchimp-confirmation-emails/ and done the extra modifications to get the option in the plugin to NOT send out confirmation emails. But it still gets sent.
The settings in Mailchimp for the list in question are just like in this instruction: http://kb.mailchimp.com/lists/signup-forms/enable-or-disable-final-welcome-email
So, the Mailchimp support dug deeper into this and sent me an email:
Hey there Markus, I just wanted to follow up with you real quick. Before our chat ended, I enabled our API watcher for the signup form. I just now checked the logs and I can see that the send welcome email parameter is set to “true,” which means that the final welcome email will send out regardless of the setting within the list. Hopefully this will help you out when you talk to the plugin developers. So is this something that you guys can help out with? How can this parameter be set to “false”?
Help appreciated! Screenshot shows the settings in the Email form extension in WP.
/Markus

NicoModeratorHi There,
Upon deeper searching and checking the codes, I could not see any way to alter the default value of skipping send final message. I saw a regarding this issue and it does not have any fix. I will forward this thread to our developer so that they could look on it.
Feel free to follow up this thread.
Thank you so much for understanding.

markusp80ParticipantOk, too bad! At least I know I did what I could then.
In the meantime I will have to settle with formatting the final welcome email in Mailchimp. But it’s not nearly as customizable as the usual emails. It would be great if the final welcome email could be skipped so that the user gets a neat designed confirmation email via the automation feature instead.

RupokMemberHi Markus,
I can’t guarantee as I am not sure if that’s possible but our developer will assess this.
Thansk!
