    Hello,

I’m having serious trouble with my site http://www.diergeneeskundevoorbaasjes.nl and I can’t manage to work it out with the answers in the forum or knowledgebase.

After I changed something in my main sidebar the widget area is not available anymore. The same problem with the live view where the font and other lay out options can be changed. I see the widget tab and the ‘aanpassen’ (adjustment in english?) tab on the dashboard but when I click them nothing happens. Not even an error message. When I click them it seems like these pages start loading, I see a loading bar that starts, but loading can’t be finished.
So I can’t make any adjustments anymore on any widget or lay out issues of the theme.

I hoped that these two problems would be resolved by updating both X and WordPress. I entered my API key for automatic updates for X. So far so good. X and WordPress updates are installed. But my two problems are still there. And a third problem appeared: after the updates the layout of several pages is disturbed, on pages where I had three columns. All content is now displayed under each other in one column.

Maybe this has to do with the WPBakery Visual Composer, which I can’t manage to update. I already tried to disable the plugin and then activate it again, this didn’t resolve the lay-out problem unfortunately. In the updates section I can see there is an update available. But when I start the update I get the message “Update package not available”. As Visual Composer comes with X, I can’t use the info on the WPBakery site. They say the updates should come from you guys.

Now it’s all getting too difficult for me, I’m not a WordPress professional, I really hope you can help me out!

Thank you so much in advance,

    Marielle

Note: I do not use any cache plugin, so my lay out problem can not have anything to do with that.

    Hi there,

Thank you for writing in! Since you already have the latest version of Xtheme. Please update the xshortcode and visual composer plugins as well, to avoid any compatibility issue.

    Guide on Updating plugins.

    Hope it helps, Cheers!

    Hi Marielle,

You need to do it via ftp.

Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

    Hi Marielle,

We usually do not do this but I’ve go ahead and updated your visual composer and x-shortcode extensions. However the issue of accessing the widget page still remain. We might really need to delete your old x-theme via FTP, and re-install a fresh copy. You can create an FTP login on your hosting cpanel area or your host already provided you an FTP credentials. You could use filezilla as your FTP client.

Let us know how it goes, Cheers!
